I was quite surprised to see it top 100 at all at this point! Mae had the hosting hype, and the goodwill hype of us having come 2nd the year before so more people were curious as to how we would follo

Remember Monday smashing in there at #95...

2 years ago, Mae Muller entered at #30 (she was actually #95 on her third week in the charts).

Last year Olly entered at #42 (but I recognise he was already a big name).

We just seem to have dropped the ball with this one.

UK TOP 100 SUMMARY AND REVIEW 14.03.25 #24

THE TOP TEN:

Myles Smith remains in the top ten with 'Nice To Meet You' at 10. Teddy Swims climbs up a spot to 9 with 'Bad Dreams' as Sabrina Carpenter achieves a new peak of 8 with 'Busy Woman.'. Kendrick has a high sales decline as he's down from 2 to 7 with 'Not Like Us.' Tate McRae has a sales climb but still slips to 6 with 'Sports Car.' Benson Boone also has a small sales climb but still slips to 5 with 'Beautiful Things,' which is due to 'Anxiety' by Doechii debuting at 4. Gaga's album sends 'Abracadabra' up to 3, but Alex Warren outdoes that as 'Ordinary' has a ginormous sales climb of 7,000+, which sends it to 2. But climbing on sales and staying at number one for her second consecutive week is Chappell Roan with 'Pink Pony Club.'

NEW ENTRIES:

97. Back To Friends—Sombr (7.5/10)

Really enjoyable! Kinda reminds me of Keshi with the effects on the vocals and overall just the production choices. The slow-moving beat with the clear instrumentals along with the vocal effects just puts you in a trance state. I can't say it does this in the best way possible, but it definitely has some real meaning behind it.

95. What The Hell Just Happened—Remember Monday (3.5/10)

I rarely get this mad at music… but I am. And in case you are wondering why I'm so angry at a 3.5/10 song, it's because this was the UK's choice for Eurovision. Rant incoming.

LAST YEAR AND FOR YEARS, WHOEVER HAS PICKED THESE SONGS HAS DONE A TERRIBLE JOB!! WE AS A COUNTRY SUCK AT EUROVISION; WE AREN'T GOING TO WIN IF WE KEEP PICKING THESE GENERAL ACTS. AND I GUARANTEE WITH MY WHOLE BANK ACCOUNT THAT WE WILL LOSE THIS YEAR, AND DON'T SAY "STOP THE NEGATIVITY" NO, NO, YOU KNOW WE ARE GOING TO LOSE, DON'T EVEN TRY AND HIDE THIS. WE COULDN'T WIN ANYWAYS BECAUSE EUROVISION IS SO POLITICALLY VOTED THAT IT'S UNFAIR. OH, AND CONGRATS TO UKRAINE FOR WINNING IN 2022. IT DEFINITELY WASN'T BECAUSE OF THE WAR, AND WE DEFINITELY DIDN'T COME SECOND FOR HELPING TO FUND THE WAR. EVERY YEAR THESE ACTS ARE GETTING WORSE; THEY ARE ALLOWING ANYTHING, EVEN IF IT'S PROMOTING SATANISM, AND THEN PEOPLE GET THEIR WAY TO THE FINAL FROM SOB STORIES. WHAT A JOKE. EVEN SOME OF THE ACTS ADMITTED TO MAKING SOB STORIES TO HAVE A CHANCE OF WINNING. IT'S A RIGGED COMPETITION THAT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SONG. EVEN SOME PEOPLE WHO PARTICIPATED TRIED TO EXPOSE EUROVISION. AND YOU KNOW WHAT'S ALSO BAD? HOW RACIST PEOPLE BOO PEOPLE FOR THEIR COUNTRY. YALL DIDN'T WANT THE ISRAEL WOMAN TO WIN JUST BECAUSE SHE'S FROM ISRAEL; THIS MUSIC COMPETITION SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE WAR, BUT WHAT DO YOU KNOW? I HEAR RACIST BOOS FROM THE CROWD!! IF ANYTHING, SHE WAS ACCUSED OF MAKING A SONG TO SUPPORT PALESTINE. THE COMPETITION HAD MANY SHAMELESS DISPLAYS OF DISGUSTING DISCRIMINATION FROM THE CROWD, BEHIND THE SCENES, AND THE PEOPLE PARTICIPATING.

And the song? By remember Monday? Monday will be remembered, but this band won't; it's tasteless pop that couldn't even make it onto radio! The most boring of the boring.

76. Beautiful People—David Guetta/Sia (6.2/10)

This isn't the first time we've seen Guetta and Sia on a song together; last time we did, it went UK No. 1 and was a memorable smash radio hit that's still played on radio today. Now, will Beautiful People live up to that? No, I'm confident it won't, just like most musical duos after releasing a smash hit together; their next songs don't live up to the original hit, just like with Calvin & Ellie's 'Free' or Kendrick and SZA's '30 For 30,' etc. Guetta gave a less action-packed production, and it felt like the song didn't have much of a memorable hook, unsurprising because Guetta just sucks nowadays. The song still spares along the lines of fun and gives something that sounds like a summer song. I won't bash it because it's not terrible; it is repetitive, though, because now I see what people mean when talking about Sia's lyrics; they are the same as before and don't present much to the song, unfortunately.

42. Sweet Dreams—J. Hope/Miguel (7/10)

I thought this was going to be interesting, and I was right; it's giving something that would've fit on Mac Miller's 'Balloonerism' as a good track. Miguel is very much capable of making something memorable, but when I saw J. Hope, I was questioning how this would sound. It turns out Miguel ruled most of the production elements, which I thought was a very good choice, and J. Hope did a great vocal job. A pleasant surprise!

41. Handlebars—JENNIE/Dua Lipa (5.5/10)

This song doesn't bring out complete, utter nonsense, but it sure is boring. I've now heard multiple songs that are main singles from JENNIE'S new album, and they all don't really deserve any hype. In fact, this song is the best one yet; without Dua's verse, the score would drop, though. The interesting noises in production were also one of the only reasons why I spared it with this score. After these performances from her and the lack of interest that sounds like it's going to be in the album, the only thing pulling me in is the wide range of features on the project, disappointing.

36. Like JENNIE - JENNIE (8/10)

And this comes as the second single. I really liked this from this album! Wow, I really think this should've been a main single! It's got an incredible dance routine as well. It has that constant pattern and fast ups and downs that make it like an action movie and keeps you hooked; Jennie's vocals are on point and fit in well with the constant pulse of the song. Give this a try!

23. Garden Of Eden—Lady Gaga (7.8/10)

Now that the Gaga album is out, we are left with the promoted single 'Garden Of Eden,' which is a good choice to put at the start of the album. It's fun, it makes you want to dance, and just like 'Abracadabra,' it's a rollercoaster of a party, which I truly believe has the power to get picked up by radio or even take Gaga to number one, and we need a hit single with staying power because right now 2025 has just been songs recycled from 2024. I'll be looking forward to hearing the full album 'Mayhem,' and this song is making me look forward to it even more!

4. Anxiety—Doechii (8/10)

And now the famous segment we all know and love is in a song, and Doechii nailed this too! The rest of the song kept the same level of sound, which I really enjoyed, and her vocals were soft and smooth, which was relaxing despite what she was rapping about. In the end, Anxiety sounds like it could be going places; social media should really pick this up!

Sam didn't chart this far in advance of the contest and neither did anything else really all the way back to Scooch in 2007. So I think the status quo is just returning of the Sam success halo effect well and truly having worn off.

'Emails I Can't Send' finally being a top 40 album heart

Amazing. I actually finally bought it on CD last week so I'm quite curious how far ahead of No.41 it was! Surprised more people haven't sought it out after the success of Short n' Sweet.
