I wouldn’t say it’s a waste of time with all the games the way it is now it’s well worth it and you make plenty of money through it!

Man Utd history with Brazilians is not amazing but he fits perfect for Amorim’s system. Sancho’s style suits European football not premier league football. Cunha is a proper premier league player

Casemiro wouldn't even get into Southampton's team, worst midfielder in the league.

Put Bayinder between the sticks and we might not leak as many goals.

Make generator but like Dobbo says, you don’t want to have a poor showing in it! I think the new format means most clubs can do ok in it though and you can afford a tough draw.

Anyway, classic Utd as I suspected. Back to reality. Real inconsistent team and on course for the worst league finish ever. There’s not even a summer war chest and even though suspect Rashford will bring in 50m, I think it will be a big summer for clubs not in the World Club Cup. Utd probably want a striker too but shopping in the mid tier bracket.

Kai Rooney with a very good goal it appears Man Utd are STACKED for the future

Have a feeling he ends up playing the same amount of games for Man Utd as all of us in this thread.

Writing off a 15 yr old! A new low

Hardly. Do you know how many youth players do well at that level and don’t make it, least of all when you are constantly in your father’s shadows.

Do you know he scored 56 goals in his first full season and he’s now playing against players two years older than him and doing pretty well. He’s definitely a very real prospect. He might not be as good as his dad but he’s going to make it

Loads of players do that though. He might well make it, but I can list you off hundreds of players who’ve been on a similar trajectory and then tailed off. To have a career as an elite premier league footballer you need way more than just natural ability.

Yeh true as Dobbo says.

Worst finish since they were relegated in 72/73 anyway. Although understand you mean Premiership.

Man Utd are in great shape right now. Under Ten Hag it was very depressing because there was no light or hope. You could see it was just a never ending cycle. There are now a lot of assets to cash in on. A ton of extremely good youth prospects Amass today looked extremely promising and if there is champions league football then can attract the best again. Then if it turns out Man Utd are back the last few years can be glossed over and you just take the trophies from it. I’d rather be in Man Utd’s position right now than Liverpool who are an aging team who will start to decline

You’d rather be in Man Utd’s position than Liverpool’s 😂 oh come off it Liam. Who’s out aging team? Salah has been in the form of his life and Virgil would walk in to any team in Europe. Not sure I get that. This summer we will 100% be buying a left back and a striker. And if Trent goes, I suspect a number 10 and then possibly a utility defender.

Like I say, I’ve heard Man Utd are back for the last 10 years and it’s hilarious to see them turn in to the very thing they used to rinse Liverpool fans for. Utd are at least 2-3 seasons from challenging for the title. And I’d be shocked if Amorim lasts that long too.

We're not 'back' until we challenge for the PL and CL again. Which is light years away on current evidence. And we still haven't made a genuinely world class signing since Van Persie! Bruno is the closest but he still goes missing for half a season every year...

The biggest takeaway I've seen this season is that the players seem to choose what games to turn up for. That's why we've generally done alright against the big teams as the players are motivated. But they still expect to just turn up against mid table fodder and win, case in point yesterday vs Wolves. It's this sort of mindset which has become embedded in the team and will take years and years to undo.

Dobbo is right. It's going to take several transfer windows on a limited budget to get anywhere close to the standard needed. But even then those negative mindsets can creep into the new players from the existing ones.

Amad Diallo is a promising option if he can return to form once he's not on the sidelines. As for academy products, they are already playing some young names (Amass, Obi, Fredricson)

and I'm not convinced any of them are ready for senior team football.

I wonder if some BuzzJack members who once claimed to be United fans but have been silent for a long time still have an opinion as it's usually the same few people commenting in this thread these days.

Yeah that’s why champions league football is so important. That extra 50 mil or so will make the transfer window a lot easier. Amorim hasn’t really had a chance to coach these players. The games have been non stop. Even the other day it was a decent performance 3 days after an extra time game and only poor finishing stopped an easy win. The spirit. The mentality. The philosophy is all better. I’m sure they’ll waste no time getting rid of players this summer. Man Utd are only 2-3 world class players away from the top teams. Arsenal are not that much better and they just wiped the floor with Real Madrid

I’m give you that, as I said before there isn’t much needed to jump from where you are to the top 4, there’s so many decent sides just beating each other in the middle of the table. Can beat anyone on their day and then get beat the next game.

£££ isn’t really an issue for United though, yous have spent a billion quid since Fergie left. And the self proclaimed biggest club in the world surely can attract anyone.

In the past for sure they spent poorly but remember nearly 600 mill of that was ten Haag and he was careless and just bought his old players.

The big two man Utd are linked with

38 mill for https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franco_Mastantuono

And 50 mill for Cunha from Wolves

Antony just scored again for Betis and has been doing great so there will be no shortage of buyers for him. Rashford & Sancho could play for many teams. We’ve seen Greenwood, Mctominay and Elanga do great after leaving so will be a lot of reasons to buy unfavoured Man Utd players. You add champions league football to that and there is probably another 100 mill to spend after those two on a striker and goalkeeper

Players doing well outside of Utd speaks for a toxic environment though. I think thats the big issue here. Plenty of good players have gone to Man Utd and been terrible. There is obviously something wrong with the culture as it cannot be a coincidence. Utd have bought poorly under every manager post Fergie! Moyes, Mourinho, Ten Haag, Ole all bought some stinkers.

I totally agree the gap to CL football is not that big. 67-70 points should see teams there, which means you can afford to lose a fair amount of games, but that gap to the top is huge. Signing Cunha doesn’t win Man Utd the league.

There were a lot of hangers on and a bad mixture of personalities. They’re now creating a better culture. If you got 6-7 players on 250k+ a week and they’re barely playing it just had a very toxic feel but that’s what Amorim has been fixing it’s why they loaned out these players despite possibly needing them and you see the difference in the team spirit. Cunha I’m not sold on but he’s a very talented player and if it works he could be a difference maker.

I think Cunha would be an immense signing, been my favourite player for the past two seasons. Ticks all the boxes in terms of age(25), Price(63m), carries the ball well, scores goals from open play from all areas. He could be a game changer if he can add 20/25 goals a season. Could be a Salahesque signing!

He literally signed a new deal at Wolves in January. It won't happen. Move on to someone else who may actually be available or nearer to the end of their contract.

I don't personally think we will be looking to sign any existing premier league players at this time but continue to look at European options but I suspect scouts have been visiting various clubs to make enquiries already.
