Change Please are thrilled to be collaborating with singer-song writer Mark Owen to launch our exclusive coffee blend, Shine.

As a hugely successful solo artist and part of British pop royalty, Take That, Mark’s incredible career in music continues to go from strength to strength, earning numerous accolades and awards along the way.

Truly inspired by Change Pleases' work supporting people out of homelessness, a cause close to Mark's heart, together we've developed the perfect blend, Shine. Shine epitomises just that, an uplifting and empowering coffee with a dreamy blend of dark chocolate, hazelnut and caramel notes.

50% of the profits from Shine coffee will be donated to the Change Please Foundation, continuing our mission of helping people experiencing homelessness by training them to become baristas, supporting them with everything they need to turn their lives around - a living wage job, housing, therapy, bank account and onward employment opportunities. It all starts with a cup of coffee.

Wake up and Shine with Mark Owen.

WHY CHANGE PLEASE X MARK OWEN

Since Take That first burst onto the pop music scene in 1991, Take That have so far achieved 28 top-40 singles, nine UK number-one albums and received eight Brit Awards.

In 2012 they received an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music. In 2024, Take That embark on their UK and Ireland stadium and arena tour, spanning 44 dates, before they head off to play across Europe and internationally later on in the year.

In Mark’s solo career he has released 5 studio albums, the most recent of which, Land of Dreams, made it to number 5 on the UK album charts. Marks passion for coffee and coffee culture started when he would regularly visit his favourite mobile coffee van at the train station on his travels and he has been hooked ever since.

Mark loves enjoying a delicious cup of coffee wherever he is, whether at home, sitting outside his favourite coffee shop in LA or whilst rehearsing and then going out across the country on tour.

Mark discovered Change Please and was truly inspired to work with us and create his own coffee blend to allow him to enjoy his favourite blend wherever in the world he might be. At the same time, by collaborating with a social enterprise, it also contributes towards another of Mark’s passions, tackling homelessness and supporting people who really need it.

Mark came to Change Please to select the beans to create the flavour profile he was looking for – something sweet and indulgent to keep his sweet tooth happy. And the result is Shine!

MAKE COFFEE LIKE MARK

When Mark is on the road, his preferred method for getting a pre-show caffeine boost is the classic Cafetiere brew! Here is how to make coffee the Mark Way...

To make two 250ml cups of coffee, weigh 30g of your Shine coffee and add to your Cafetiere.

🫗 Pour 500ml of just-off boiling water in a circular motion into the Cafetiere, ensuring all the grounds are covered.

⏲️ Leave to brew for 3-5 minutes depending on how strong you like your coffee. 4 minutes is perfect and enough time to listen to Shine!

🥄 Scoop off any excess foam from the top.

👇 Plunge just under the surface of the water

Pour into your favourite mug and enjoy!

Scouting For Girls star Roy Stride has been tasked with writing Take That's 'biggest song' to date

Roy Stride has been tasked with writing Take That's "biggest song" to date. The 46-year-old musician - who is best known as the frontman of Scouting For Girls - has been writing with Mark Owen, and explained that the Take That star thinks that despite his decades in the industry alongside bandmates Gary Barlow and Howard Donald, the best is yet to come. He told The Daily Star newspaper's Wired column: "I did a writing session with Mark Owen from Take That over here (LA) and it was so inspiring because he's achieved so much. It's the biggest boyband to ever come out of the UK, like wha more could they achieve? "But literally he started the session going, 'I still don't think we've written our biggest song, we still have more to achieve, I still think we can write the biggest song ever, so yeah it was quite humbling but inspiring.

"It was amazing to work with him because he was really like, 'This isn't good enough, this isn't it, we could do better than that.' It was really hard work because he was so demanding about how good it had to be."

Roy also noted working with a Take That member comes with a certain type of perstige but then it is all a breeding ground for songwriting talent in the end because of how it spreads on social media. He said: "You'll do an incredible session and be like, 'Yes got that!' but then I am following other songwriters on Instagram like, 'Oh he's in with Mark Owen, he's in with Mark Owen, oh fing hell, Mark Owen's working with a lot of people!"

Meanwhile, in the late 2000s, Roy found fame himself alongside Greg Churchouse and James Rowlands and they enjoyed success with hits such as 'She's So Lovely' and 'This Ain't A Love Song'.

Ahead of the release of a 15th anniversary edition of their album 'Everybody Wants To Be On TV' and a tour set to begin next year, Roy noted that the thing he is still most proud of is knocking Lady Gaga off the top of the UK charts when they were at the height of their fame. He said: "I probably mention that at most dinner parties. "It's quite funny, especially as I'm working and living in LA and nobody knows who Scouting For Girls are... "So I do say, 'Yeah, we were No1, we knocked Lady Gaga off' and you can see them go like, 'Is this guy for real?"

You Only Want Me has crept up on me with repeated plays, that chorus is really infectious! Magic is my favourite from Land of Dreams though heart

Yes, fully agree.

In fact all Mark's albums should me more successful. He is really talented lad.

I agree and to be fair to him he never played it safe, all his albums are different but good in their own way and really deserved much more sales.

It's interesting arriving at Mark's solo career only recently, because I can see some comparisons to Harry Styles in how he approached it. Their first albums were a significant diversion sonically from what they were known for in their groups, and both their debut singles were 5 minute long ballads. Both their second albums were more commercial, too. Obviously their chart fortunes were vastly different, it's just interesting to see some similar decisions along the way!

Magic is one of his very best songs! I'd love to think we could get a new Mark album in the coming years.

He definitely has had a couple of nice tracks that stand out on their own , I very much like this one . Mark has his own style even within Take That especially in recent years so doing his own solo stuff has probably been very good for him & he brings something different to the current TT line-up .

Take That stars daughter is following in his footsteps

Turns out the hit Take That song was wrong, not everything changes! Mark Owen's daughter Willow is proving that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree as she's following in her famous dad's footsteps.

The teen has been bitten by the same bug as she's launching her very own singing career. The 16-year-old has released a series of tracks to SoundCloud, a free music-hosting website.

Willow, who is Mark's middle child, has been releasing a string of original demos over the past six months, in a bid to reach the heights her father achieved with Take That.

She has been promoting her music on her TikTok account, which has already amassed an impressive 55,500 followers.

Ever the doting dad, Mark appears to be extremely proud of his little girl. He shared a link to Willow's latest song Back To Me Now on his own social media page.

The 53-year-old shares Willow, along with his 18-year-old son Elwood and 12-year-old daughter Fox, with his wife Emma Ferguson, whom he married in 2009. Willow's latest venture is not her first time entering the music world, as she featured on her dad's 2022 solo album Land Of Dreams, alongside her little sister.

Mark was delighted that his girls were getting involved in music, telling The Sun at the time: 'They are into all their own music but actually they're aware and interested in this, which is nice.'

'The girls are singing on the record, doing backing vocals with two girls who have been performing with Foo Fighters, so that was exciting and a nice experience for them.'
