Joey Deacon was a sufferer of Cerebal Palsy. He appeared on Blue Peter in the 1970s, to educate the ignorant British kids about people with the illness. Unfortunately it backfired resulting in sufferers of the disease (and eventually just unintelligent or idiotic people) being called "Joeys", and of course it gave rise to the famous insult, where you put your tongue in your bottom lip and make a groaning noise like a "Joey" :lol:
