Promise this isn't meant to be a Kylie vs Madonna thread. My mate asked me the other day and these are the ones that came to mind:

1. only female artist with at least a #1 album in 5 consecutive decades

2. Two million selling songs in the UK (Madonna hasn't had any, or just 1. Am I wrong)?

3. CGYOOMH and LAFS broke airplay records in the UK, Madonna has never had a "breaking airplay" kind of song

4. Not exactly more, but Kylie has almost had the same no. of top 10 albums like Madonna.

Madonna did set the record for most plays in a week with 'Beautiful Stranger'. It was also the #1 radio hit of 1999, making Madonna the first female soloist to achieve this since current records began (which admittedly was only 6 years prior).

Kylie's debut album has outsold all of Madonna's studio albums. It was the biggest album of 1988 which is something I don't think Madonna has done.

Kylie first 7 singles went Top 2 and first 13 Top singles all went Top 10 which i think is still a record that Kylie holds for a female artist, (i know acts such as Boyzone for example had a longer run of top 10 hits from their debut)

Madonna's opening run didnt achieve this but she have a longer run of top 10s after.

Kylie achieved number 1 with her debut and her first 2 albums both went number 1 which Madonna didnt achieve as her first album made number 6.

I find it shocking that Madonna doesn't have a UK million selling single and also that Kylie only has 2 as both have a good few songs that you just assume sold in far bigger quantities than they did ( i know sales were lower in their big eras) although if the same hits had the same success in the streaming era they both would have so many more million sellers which they are both worthy of.

She does now! (thanks to streaming bumping the numbers up)

Although before streaming, the highest was 'Into The Groove' on 800-something-k.

Especially Hung Up came out during the lowest sales era possible. It should be "an easy" million seller in regards of popularity (3 weeks at #1, 29 weeks in top 75).

Kylie also achieved having Top 10 singles in five consecutive decades - Madonna had no Top 10 singles last decade.

That would be amazing but I doubt it will happen.

I definitely see her getting a 6th decade with a UK no1 album. We're kind of half way through this decade, so even if the label slaps another GH album with 120 variants, a #1 is assured! :P Unless the album chart undergoes a massive change.

I think she will easily manage a 6th decade with number 1 albums, getting another top 10 single will be far far harder.

I mean, we never imagined we'd get another top 10 (or hit) at all and it happened so never say never.

She's proven time and time again she can't be written off, but even if it doesn't happen again I'm more than grateful for what we did unexpectedly get in 2023.

Il always be grateful for padam padam, that going top 10 just felt so huge, the chart run was so much fun watching it climb and i wouldn't completely rule out something like that happening again even if it was just a feature but i think from a betting point of view the odds would be against her.
