Brentford won’t have anyone left at this rate

Well they are putting up a resistence to this transfer happening, but I reckon it will get done around 35 mil.

Even though I know I disagree with a lot of people in this thread on footballing matters.. I think we can all take solodice that we're already bored of the Gyokores celebration and he's not even score

I think Mbeumo would be a good signing, him and Cunha could possibly bounce off each other a bit similar to Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke. After how last season turned out even the smallest of steps woul

There is still plenty of work to be done, and a clearout should be the priority, but it depends who is interested in approaching big waged Rashford, Sancho etc. I need Jean-Philippe Mateta to join U

Tottenham are monitoring Joao Palhinha's situation at Bayern Munich, according to The Sun.

The ex-Fulham midfielder could reportedly be available for around £22m, but should Spurs firm up their interest, then it would be most likely in the form of a loan approach.

Can someone explain the Chelsea business model for me? They are at a point in this transfer window where they have already done a lot of business, and they are still stockpiling more players surplus to requirement. They will have practically added an entire 11 man squad to their recruits by the time this window closes with the other deals they have lined up, and so many of those players, and the existing ones, will get very limited gametime during the season, and that is even with all the additional games Chelsea will be expected to play.

The way the club is run, with these decade long contracts, it's just bonkers business, and it just is not run like any other football club in the country. How can any player look at a club like that and think that is where they want to play their football, when opportunities are going to be so hard to come by for them?

The long contracts are to get around PSR so costs can be spread out over longer timeframes but it definitely attracts mercenaries, young players will look at it and be like "oh I can guarantee myself a £100K+ a week pay check until I'm 30 and I don't even had to put in any effort whatsoever"

They're gambling on buying young players and selling them for much higher prices in a few years time. It's a business (no surprise considering who the owner is) and I'm not convinced they're winning anything meaningful anytime soon.

Think there’s slightly more to it with Chelsea in that they also have a policy of not buying players over a certain age. But clearly for a lot of players their idea is to flip them every 12-18 months. A lot of these players are advised by Agents too and in most cases they will get a good payday and be able to find a club again. I think the bigger issue is squad harmony & management. Clearly on these massive contracts they offer, players can negotiate salary increases on top of it.

Isak is “injured” and not going on Newcastle’s Asia tour 😂 Clearly Liverpool have got in his head, who knows if a deal can be done though.

I think it'll be a Kane 2021 situation where he refuses to train temporarily to make his point (i.e. sulk) but ultimately come back into the fold before this season. Long-term though he's not got a future there evidently.

But Newcastle want 150 mil for him? 🤣

That's just a price tag, players force through moves all the time where they get disgruntled and the club has no choice but to settle for less to avoid the whole dressing room being disrupted, Trossard being a good recent example.

Isak making himself look like an idiot. The move to Liverpool isn’t happening so what is the point of sulking. This guy was playing for a mid table la liga team not long ago now he won a trophy has champions league football and he’s throwing a tantrum

Tbf Iask has been a top player for a while just hasn’t played in the premier league. I always remember him coming on for Sweden as an 18 yo and being unreal when Zlatan was the main guy!

Transfer request in now - he’s off. Why the that’s to Liverpool or Al-Hilal remains to be seen. As I’ve thought since last week, the way we operate in the media is telling. Usually if we have no interest we use James Pearce to shut stories down. We’ve let this run all summer. Suspect if we can get a deal done, Diaz goes to half fund it.

It’s just not making sense. Sign his potential replacement and then still sign him? Can’t see it. That’s just crazy spending then you have to factor in Salah just signed a new contract probably big wages and VVD how can Liverpool afford all this? Anyway point still stands that Newcastle would be crazy to sell to a rival

Easy. Liverpool regularly get outspent by other clubs, we’ve plenty of money, we just choose not to spend it. Plus with all of these deals, they’re financed over multiple years so from an accounting perspective you’re not actually spending that much money all in one go.

My guess is Etikete will play more on the left and we’ll move to a 4231 with Ekiteke playing off the left.

I mean technically could sell Nunez Diaz and Elliott and probably get a lot but it’s a lot of changing and big money spending and those signings rarely work out historically so it’ll be interesting if this works out but I still can’t see Newcastle doing it especially now they missed out on Etikete. They should tell Isak Saudi or stay

Yeah a lot of change at Liverpool but you could also say that about all the big clubs this season. Swings and roundabouts. Under Edwards we rarely make a bad transfer, I still remember everyone laughing at how much we paid for Van Dijk at the time. In whatever model they use they obviously see pricing differently or see inflation kicking in to football even further.
