Lil Wayne's 15th studio album, and sixth entry to the legendary 'Tha Carter' series is here and... it's interesting to say the least.

The first 9 tracks are so are ok. It feels like one of his old albums just with a bit of a step-down in quality. It sounds a little dated but the track with Bono is actually a massive standout. One of the few tracks I see myself going back to.

but then about halfway through it goes COMPLETELY OFF THE RAILS. It's just bad idea after bad idea. The worst part is definitely when Lin-Manuel Miranda(!) produces a track and it has possibly the worst beat ever made in Hip-Hop. Although the Weezer sample and the one where his 14 year old son 'raps' for 2 minutes pushes it close. The song with his other son sounds like a classic in comparison.

Hearing Wayne rap over Andrea Bocelli is actually one of parts from the second half of the album that works the best! The best track from the second half is definitely the one produced by Manie Fresh. A whole album with that production would have banged (even if it's probably one of the worst lyrically).

I tried to listen to it again but it’s just unlistenable.

Lyrically Lil Wayne has fell off a cliff for awhile but it was really just a mess all round.

Some songs were ok but that feels like I’m clutching at straws

It’s time to hang the mic up I’m afraid

'Island Holiday' is a fun spin on Weezer's 'Island In The Sun'. heehee

I always have a liking for Lil Wayne doing a bit of crossover with rock music.
