June 9Jun 9 Author I think a lot of things went great for them this era.Changes for me:-Delay the BBF for a month or 2/3. H/T was still riding high and it could’ve been a #1 in other weeks in the UK.-Not doing an US release. More promo in Europe/Australia and Asia, especially as Steptacular was released and less of a succes in those regions.-Maybe a re-release of the album in Europe around the time H/T was a hit in some countries over there (with some extra tracks/mixes).-Release BBF in Australia. Depending on their promo it could’ve been a nice top 20 hit. Edited June 9Jun 9 by Lee_his_cheeks
June 9Jun 9 I guess it all became about building momentum.5678 had to happen for Last Thing On My Mind to happen, for One For Sorrow to become a bigger hit! I'd maybe have released another single (Love You More or This Heart Will Love Again). I'd also look at sharing the vocals more on One For Sorrow (with Claire still being the main voice you heard in the chorus)

June 15Jun 15 Author I totally agree with building up their momentum. Though it would’ve been nice for BBF to grab the #1 spot as well.Mm, not sure about a 6th single though. Maybe a double A with a new track?
June 15Jun 15 I guess with hindsight I might have flipped the emphasis on Heartbeat/Tragedy, to make it Tragedy/Heartbeat, as Heartbeat was the song mostly played on the chart and music channels in the run up to Christmas, slightly masking the potential of Tragedy for a bit. They're fortunate attention did switch to Tragedy come new year, because there was no real guarantee that would happen. Still, I do get the logic of pushing a ballad at Christmas and it all worked out in the end.Other than that, I'd have squeezed in Love You More somewhere, but really the only place it would have fit is as a double a-side with Better Best Forgotten. Maybe with a nice fresh single remix and a release delay of a few weeks that could have been another No.1 for them as a double a-side. Edited June 15Jun 15 by gooddelta
