Did wonder why this video of mine had taken a spike in views 🤣 It's been in my head since I went to the tour last month, easily a return to form from "Marry Me". I'd hazard a guess he's probably goin

Good question! A quick sconce at the playlist archive forum has confirmed it was with "Feel The Same" back in 2019!

Now? It's been that way for quite a long time

At least it sort of charted, but (perhaps unsurprisingly) it looks like his focus is now on the album and touring.

I'd love him to get another top 40 single though.

I mean. One thing the last few years have taught us is you can never say never. I'm of the belief he'll maybe get a second wind as it were. How that will come I don't know - but look at Kylie, look at Sophie Ellis-Bextor in recent years. Their renaissance both kind of came from left of centre.

But comparatively speaking to the last album campaign, this is already doing miles better in terms of radio reception, the video having more of a budget behind it etc. And it just has the happy coincidence of being the best single he's had since - for me, anyway - "You Don't Know Love". Anything else that happens beyond that, when or if happens, is a happy bonus. The album and tour are of course the focus.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor didn't really have an renaissance, she had a past nostalgia hit re-chart thanks to a film, but nothing singles wise has troubled the chart since. Kylie is a different kettle of fish, Padam, Padam was a big hit of it's own accord and she has had a few top 75 hits following that (which she was achieving anyway).

Olly wont ever really trouble the singles chart again bar (if lucky) 1 or 2 low top 100s but hopefully he can continue to get good airplay etc that might help his album sales.
