that top 4 is great, and in the right order too, Corona topped my charts, as did 7 Seconds, and with a longer chart run. I love the top 3 tracks, all different but fabulous.

some faves here, Roxette and Black Velvet topped my charts, and Black Velvet will always remind me of my first Florida holiday, sultry and Blues-ey. Kim and Dirty Cash both peaked at 2 and still love

10 - Smokie and Roy Chubby Brown - Living Next Door To Alice

I loath crowd participation.

18th best seller of the year which means more than 500,000 people bought it. :(

This is an easy 0.0

The original folk version by New World is nice, The Smokie cover is their best record, but this sweary version just sucked out every bit of emotion and turned it into a Karaoke monster that makes it impossible to put the original on without people effing along to it. Not forgiven.

09 - The Outhere Brothers - Boom Boom Boom

Lordy. This is awful. Worse than their other huge hit.

11th best seller of 1995

Colm's score 1.0

Living Next Door to Alice is a contender for the worst successful song of the 90s, diabolical trash from a time when idiots thought it was big and clever to be able to shout the f word whilst singing a song

08 - Shaggy - Boombastic

Hmmm..... ok. Well this is a significant step up but it's still Shaggy and I've never been a fan.

Not great. 15th best seller of 1995.

Colm's score 5.0

That still happens in some Irish pubs.

happens when I'm on holiday in Gran Canaria at Shenanigans, so I can confirm...(though its mostly Brits on holiday with assorted puzzled Scandinavians)😄

Let me hear you say eh-oh. Needs an extra Boom to make it even more annoying...

I do like Shaggy though Boombastic isnt his best record, he has way better including some 2026 releases, Shaggy actual singing shock horror on Ain't No Sunshine with Sting. It's nice, honest!

07 - Oasis - Roll With It

Possibly their weakest single at that point - although I didn't think much of Cigarettes and Alcohol, or Shaker Maker either.

Poor.

20th best seller of 1995

Colm's score 5.5

Always think of being in a restaurant: "do you want a roll with it?" Not classic Oasis for me, it's OK though.
