I wonder if the lack of updates helped or hindered this. When it was #27, it would've had more exposure on the chart playlists but would it have made much difference idk.. either way, it's over 2 million again so I'm happy.

I was thinking the same!! Here's hoping Wednesday edits keep on coming to secure a decent peak!

I think it might have had more impact being on playlists if say this happened on Disease's opening week but with The Dead Dance being tied to Wednesday I feel like when people watch this or see the viral clip it's likely to pick up more traction that way!

“The Dead Dance” — Global Spotify:

Wednesday — +1,584,855

Thursday — +1,548,726 (-2.3%)

Friday — +2,770,349 (+78.9%)

Saturday — +1,901,385 (-31.4%)

Sunday — +1,645,254 (-13.5%)

Monday — +2,030,195 (+23.4%)

This won’t peak now, I can see this being a moderate hit that will linger and last easily outdoing ‘Disease’.

The (comparative) underperformance of Disease does seem really baffling in retrospect. Although Abracadabra is definitely my favourite, it just works so well for the song

Disease just come at the wrong time I think! Too soon after Joker and Die With A Smile overshadowed it completely! Then the song wasn’t too GP friendly. I feel like another track might’ve done better at that time (like it’s one of the least GP friendly tracks on MAYHEM) but Abracadabra was destined to debut when that did!

But having solid post album smashes I’d say is better in the long run! I think Disease may get a cult following in years to come as well like what Judas did.

I agree with this. It wasn't the best timing for it and as much as I (and the fans) properly adore it, it is quite jarring and industrial and divisive in terms of production and not the most user-friendly of songs. I think that's why it didn't light up the charts the way it did, but the comparison so Judas and its cult following is so spot on!
