I'm trying really hard to like this song lol, I think the verses are sublime but the chorus just leaves me a bit like "is that it?

MAYHEM producer Andrew Watt praises Lady Gaga and talks about “The Dead Dance” in a new interview with Rolling Stone:

“She is unbelievable. Every one of these songs that we ever made together, the concepts are so effortlessly her. Lady Gaga, “The Dead Dance.” It’s just such a her concept. Because of the title and the way that she was singing, the production morphed and shifted a lot. We worked very hard on that production to make it sound original and also feel like something that you could really dance to. 

What I really love about that song is the live instrumentation mixed with the track instrumentation. There’s some really good bass in there and cool guitar inversions and stuff and great synths and the way everything works together. I remember when we were making that bridge, that’s where it got really funky. “Do the dead dance” — that was invented from the bridge music. That was a big telltale for the song. And then everything got morphed around that.”

I hope the song can have another resurgence, as from the looks of it it seems like it’s starting to fall everywhere on streaming.

I think it won't, it's done its job for a deluxe release.. it's always a bit more difficult with those - Busy Woman by Sabrina C. never reached higher than #27 on Hot 100 for instance and it was a new song for SNS deluxe. The new one by Miley Cyrus is a complete bomb on charts (if it ever gets to chart in the first place...)

I hope Gaga’s one proves to be a different scenario, as I have grown to absolutely love ‘The Dead Dance’ despite going “ehhh…?” on my initial listen.

With Halloween around the corner, it could be another shot for the song to shoot up the charts slightly (shame the Halloween effect is minimal compared to say, Christmas, but it’s better than nothing)!

Predicted to stay in top 50 on Billboard Hot 100.

This has definitely done all it's going to do now, but it doesn't matter too much as it's not like there's anything riding on this single.

Now if they can revisit the album and push something from that... !

I wonder if the UK tour could slightly boost it next week maybe even just off back catalogue / more people streaming MAYHEM because of the tour? I still think Halloween might do something for it as well.

I do think it has potential to do a tad better than what Disease did overall even if it doesn't peak top 10.

It's done alright enough though and I think it should hopefully get a few extra weeks top 40 if nothing else.

Maybe a week or two left for it top 40 but not much beyond that. Agreed it's sort of done its job now though and reignited the album campaign slightly.
