October 3, 2025Oct 3 Just a few weeks after Reneé Rapp we have another album that's dropped exactly 1-40!This Biffy album had a higher opening sale than their last #1 album in 2020 but that one managed to stay as high as #10 in week 2 oop.'Everything is romantic' making an appearance in the singles chart feels very out of nowhere - I wondered if it might be related to the Taylor Swift thing but I am pretty sure that leak happened way too late in the week to have had anything to do with it? Love to see it anyway, it wasn't quite my favourite previously uncharted song from 'BRAT' (that'd be 'B2b') but not far off. <3

Maybe I was unfair too, Charli... maybe I didn't let the album in at the right time. Well, I previously gave this song a 1/10; now I'd say it's a 7.5/10. I kind of understand the lyrics more as well as the whole electronics coming in on the darker-like beat that sounds like it's for a sad song. Charli's vocals blend with it too to create this nostalgic sound that really feels like it could represent an era. There. You have it. I take it back. 66. Come Find Me – MK/Clementine Douglas (8.2/10) Why is this week full of songs that remind me of nostalgia already?? This song's bass has this nice ground of mellowness, but it's also got a kick that really helps the song build on me, with a sound that could even make it into Ibiza! I wasn't expecting these two to make something this good. I'm very happy with the result – great progression. 61. Dr Feel Right – Josh Baker/Egyptian Lover/Rome (8/10) Old-school funk methods are used with more of a modern sound, with the synthesisers and producers making the most out of every input. This is not only the best Josh Baker song, but it's also spot on to get his name out there more! I really hope this is his next hit; it's sexy but not too sexy, and it's slow but also great for the club. It's an all-round banger. 42. Dracula – Tame Impala (7.2/10) Previous listen: These singles are really just getting better and better! I like when Tame lean into a catchy little quick bop rather than 7-minute songs. It suits them. Second listen: [-0.3/10 in score] A nu-disco synth-funk song that doesn't exactly tick any specific decade's sound, but instead what it does tick is the box of enjoyment. 41. Now Or Never – Tkandz/Cxsper (5.5/10) I'm surprised how high this charted since I and others seem not to know who these two are. Anyways, here we have a song where the rapper sounds like a Black and less heavy vocal version of Central Cee, or maybe it's just because they're British; I don't really know. The song uses the same hip-hop pads that half of the rap songs do, with everything sounding like a song that a SoundCloud rapper could've come up with. I'm sorry, but this isn't 2018. 34. Gorgeous – Doja Cat (8.2/10) I quite like this as a luxury and refined pop follow-up too. "Jealous Type", the cut scene in the middle, definitely wasn't a good choice, especially for a song that you're trying to advertise as the next single. But despite that, we still have minutes' worth of a song that feels like a mix of bad bitch energy and a song to lie on the beach to. That being said, I don't think this has big radio potential. 32. Stay (If You Wanna Dance) - Myles Smith (7/10) On one hand it's quite manufactured and similar to "Gold", but it's low-key a guilty pleasure. The hook is quite chill and fun; I'd call it danceable, but in the end I can't give it too high a rating due to the general fakeness surrounding the elements of the song. 17. House Tour – Sabrina Carpenter (7.5/10) This song sounds like a rebooted version of the dance songs we got in the 80s-90s, especially from artists like Madonna. I like the shine from the older pop synths, and with the vocals and lyrics, it made me think of "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" and "Our House". What a mix LOL. 9. So Easy (To Fall In Love) - Olivia Dean (8/10) This song more so resembles the layout of a Laufey song rather than her mall pop style "Man I Need"; it keeps up the feeling of naturalness we get from Olivia's music, with every instrument playing a clear part in the song. This one was actually the best I've heard from the album so far! I'll listen in full to the album later. 6. Tit For Tat - Tate McRae (8/10) You know what this reminds me of a little? 2023 pop: Doja Cat! Where the production is the most different from any Tate song, as much as I don't think this is the best way to open a possible new era, I definitely see this being a single. I think the synths bring this dreamy, floating feel that feels very bright, like something you'd hear at a shiny disco; it has its equal touch of grace but with a very danceable tone. I love it!
