Posted Tuesday at 21:332 days She is currently experiencing a revival with the general public with her internet-breaking album West End Girl. But this is the thread to discuss everything that has come before and any news/updates on the artist. Which albums/songs are your favourites from her? Are you alright, still or do you have no shame?
Wednesday at 05:541 day Echoing the love for the first two albums, and in particular all the singles from them, which I think were perfectly picked. 'Smile' and 'LDN' still sound great, especially in the summer. 'Alfie' is a very under-rated single, her witty lyricism really shines through on that. 'Not Fair' probably remains my favourite Lily Allen single. 'Somewhere Only We Know' seems to be quite divisive on Buzzjack but I really like it.
Wednesday at 05:591 day I really liked Littlest Things as the third single in 2006. It was probably the one best suited for a winter release.
Wednesday at 06:321 day Friday Night from her debut is such a bop. I think that could’ve been a worthy fifth single from the era, same with F**k You from her second album.
Wednesday at 20:151 day Author I now absolutely ADORE 4 out of 5 of her albums. It's Not Me, It's YouAlright, StillWest End GirlNo Shame-SheezusThe top 4 are all incredible and West End Girl could even overtake Alright, Still over time but too early to tell. I have too many connections with her debut era to move it out of the top 2. What a collection of work!
Yesterday at 00:341 day I've just listened to No Shame for the first time. How have I not done so sooner? Such a bad fan. 🤣I'll need to give it more listens but it's much better than Sheezus amd I'd say on par with West End Girl. Edited yesterday at 00:351 day by Paddington James

So whilst Rihanna hasn’t fallen hard she also has been the least active by far. In Rihanna defence though Good Girl Gone Bad is still streaming very well and Anti was quite successful.

14 hours ago14 hr There's nothing to suggest Rihanna has had a fall from grace, but I guess the proof will be in the pudding when/if she properly releases music again.
14 hours ago14 hr Who'd Have Known is still THAT song for me..But yeah a really good and surprising comeback, thought she was dead in the water after the floppage of No Shame!

I don’t actually think she has, it’s just her output has been so small since then. Well small compared to what it was from 2005-2014.She also never really had a ‘down’ era in my view. So she was always consistent.

Thanks.
