The reframing of the Osbourne family as some wholesome, kind hearted family is honestly grim to watch.

Pinkpantheress wins producer! So deserved. She has to take best dance act home too now surely?

  • I mean I don’t disagree that the song is boring and I don’t want it to get a reset but you guys do sometimes forget that the BRITS are a celebration of the year that has just passed and not a “what ca

How Sharon can do this without looking at her phone but some artists had to do it for much shorter speeches sure

Not the genre awards being shunted into a montage

Tbf for Sharon she knew ozzy was getting this as opposed to other artists that may or may not of believed they were going to win theirs

Found the ceremony more tedious than usual tonight. I don't find Jack Whitehall funny at all and the presentation feels like a weird attempt to be edgy or controversial rather than actually celebrating British music. The sidelining of the genre awards was a joke, not to mention Noel Gallagher getting "Songwriter of the Year" mostly for songs he wrote 30 years ago? An insult to current talent.

That said, the performances were actually all pretty strong and it felt like a good showcase of a variety of artists, so credit for that at the very least.

The guy who invaded the stage had a "sombr is a homewrecker" t-shirt on lol.

Yeah news outlets are reporting it was part of the performance

I didn't think the ceremony was any worse than it usually is really ~

Was worth it just for ROSALÍA getting a very generous amount of screen time *.* I really enjoyed the Mark Ronson performance too, who had Ghostface Killah showing up for a 2026 BRITs performance on their bingo cards? x

(most of the performances were pretty good really, even Alex Warren's was a kind of interesting arrangement of the song, could have done without the HUNTR/X one especially as it wasn't even live but eh)

Well the only standout performances were Rosalia, Raye and Mark Ronson medley with Dua Lipa. Everyone else was okay. Alex Warren had the worse by being boring.

It was least of a sweep then usual but the Brits seem to still only care about giving most popular artist most of the awards which is cool but 3 years in a row? Can we stop now?

Sad thing is the voting academy liability. They reflect on charting and the results on Grammys. There should be changes:

  • Move the BritS back to BBC, invite pop legends as award presenters not more telly icons since there's tv baftas and NTAs.

  • Make the show 3 hours and have fair voting academy

  • Put the show a legacy of british music

Tbf the show is just shy of 3 hours as it is , there are just adverts (this is where the less important genre categories were given out that we saw rushed in a montage)

Apart from this year, 2023 was the last time where an artist did a clean sweep. RAYE lost best pop act to Dua Lipa in 2024 and Charli XCX lost best pop act to JADE last year and I agree that it’s annoying when artists win only because of who they are

They didnt say clean sweep though they said most awards and tbf charli shouldnt of even been nominated in pop as she was already in best Dance and won that anyway , no artist this year was in multiple genres

Lola Young was in both the Alternative/Rock and Pop categories.

My bad i missed that one no shade on lola her Breakthrough award was well deserved , it just feels unfair when acts are nominated for multiple genres especially when its only 1 act

To celebrate 50 years of the BRITs, Now should do a spin-off next year called Now That’s What I Call Brit Awards and span the whole 50 years across 5 discs and include songs that have won or got nominated for best single, songs that got performed on the show and songs from albums that won or got nominated etc

Agreed into it.. also next year will celebrate the 75th anniversary jubilee of the Official Charts. I am okay to put the BRITs to Liverpool next year and just like the Rock and Roll hall of fame, British Music needs to have a hall of fame.
