Shall I get the ball rolling

8.5 Lando Norris - did enough to earn the title. Could have won it more easily with better qualifying/race starts

8.5 Oscar Piastri - would be higher without the dip at the end. Really like him as a driver

8.0 Charles Leclerc - consistent as always

5.5 Lewis Hamilton - fell further behind Charles as the season progressed. Sad to see

11.0 Max Verstappen - cemented his legendary status for me.

6.0 Yuki Tsunoda - shame to see him go but I do think he could have done better. I don’t subscribe fully to the idea that the 2nd seat is doomed

8.0 Kimi Antonelli - promising start, sketchy middle, good ending

9.0 George Russell - pulled off some Max style wins there

7.5 Fernando Alonso - unlucky at the start of the season. Pulled it back towards the end

4.0 Lance Stroll - showed flashes of pace. Was lucky to outscore Alonso earlier in the season. His qualifying in particular was shocking

6.0 Jack Doohan - treated like shit. I don’t think he’d have done worse than Franco. Hope he gets another shot

7.0 Pierre Gasly - decent enough in the worst car

6.5 Esteban Ocon - outshone by his teammate

8.5 Oliver Bearman - amazing to see him perform so well

9.0 Hadjar - amazing debut season

6.5 Liam Lawson - should never have been put in Red Bull seat. Did well enough in RB

7.5 Alexander Albon - some great performances, but with some dips

7.5 Carlos Sainz Jr - poor start, great end

7.0 Gabriel Bortoleto - qualifying great (especially against a team mate known for qualifying well). Hopefully his race craft will improve in future seasons (the big points gap between him and Nico evidenced to me how he is lacking this atm)

9.0 Nico Hulkenberg - shame to see the dip after the podium but got the max out of the car so many times. His maiden podium is the highlight of the sporting year for me (and being at Silverstone to hear the roar as he crossed the line was everything)

5.0 Franco Colapinto - maybe I’m wrong but I don’t think he’s good enough at this stage

08 Lando Norris - far from a perfect season but knuckled down at the business end and props for getting it over the line

08 Oscar Piastri - stunning in the first half but a unprecedented collapse derailing the second, still impressive given his (lack of) experience

08 Charles Leclerc - not a vintage leclerc season but pulled off some seriously impressive drives in a truly abysmal car

05 Lewis Hamilton - notwithstanding the machinery and time adapting to a new team it was a very underwhelming season with very few highlights

10 Max Verstappen - remains the class of the field once again, dragging himself and a oftentimes average car to a scarcely believable title challenge

02 Yuki Tsunoda - completely exposed when expectations were raised, not even matching the likes of those who preceded him in an abysmal showing

07 Kimi Antonelli - some incredible highs mixed in with serious lows but for a rookie he's certainly shown world champion potential

09 George Russell - near flawless and extracted almost everything realistically possible from the car, just dipped a little at the season's end

07 Fernando Alonso - solid and consistent with fewer wow moments than seasons gone by, still more than deserving his spot on the grid

04 Lance Stroll - not a terrible season by his low standards but to be completely whitewashed in qualifying is beyond embarrassing

03 Jack Doohan - not given a fair crack of the whip at all but didn't do enough in the short time frame to suggest too much promise

07 Pierre Gasly - did what he could in a horrendous car by capitalising on results when opportunities were available

04 Esteban Ocon - a very sobering and humbling season getting beaten by a rookie teammate, showing very few glimpses of his obvious talent

07 Oliver Bearman - a rather anonymous first half of the season followed by a stellar second, pulling off some extremely impressive drives

08 Isack Hadjar - certainly the rookie of the season, bouncing back from a disastrous opener to fully put his stamp on the sport and earn his 'promotion'

06 Liam Lawson - negating his blink and you miss it red bull tenure, has been quietly solid at the sister team whilst remaining in the shadow of his teammate

07 Alexander Albon - incredibly impressive in the first half but completely capitulated in the second, still his consistency at the start got the team off to a great start

07 Carlos Sainz Jr - complete opposite of albon, well well below par initially before a couple of stunning drives dragged his season to an overall decent showing

06 Gabriel Bortoleto - very mixed bag, especially impressive in qualifying against a formidable teammate but laced in with some truly shocking mistakes

07 Nico Hulkenberg - lost some of his outright pace but impressed in the races, finally earning that long overdue maiden podium

04 Franco Colapinto - has not been too far off pace-wise from gasly but too often squandered the rare opportunities of the car challenging for points

8.5 Lando Norris - Just about edged his teammate across the season pointswise but received from favourable decisions and slightly more luck to take the title.

8.5 Oscar Piastri - A tad unlucky and on the receiving end of some unfortunate team and steward decisions. Still struggles slightly on low grip tracks, and they all came on the title run in. Much improved compared to 2024.

9.0 Charles Leclerc - Making Ferrari look like a team that isn't in freefall. Outdrove his car and evoked memories of Alesi and Villeneuve Sr. at times

4.5 Lewis Hamilton - If ever a former champion looked like time was up, this was it. Deserves better than to be running near the back every week and if 2026 doesn't start well I can see him walking away mid-season.

10 Max Verstappen - Imperious at times but a mid-season dip in motivation and that collision in Spain prevent what would otherwise be an 11, and probably a title. Might be his best season yet though.

5.0 Yuki Tsunoda - Started the season in good form but found the Red Bull as much of a handful as others have. The tightness of the grid made the deficit to Max look far worse as his average Qualifying gap was only 0.5s but he never managed to get to grips and disappointed.

8.0 Kimi Antonelli - A largely impressive debut season marred only by a brief loss of form. Managed to be more effective at derailing Verstappen's title charge than the McLaren boys. Looks to have a promising future.

8.0 George Russell - Scored the same as Kimi because his experience should see him ahead. Great on his good days, AWOL at other times. Still more impressive in Qualifying than on race pace.

9.0 Fernando Alonso - Very unlucky at times - story of his career - but rarely doesn't impress especially given his age. 2026 could be a glorious swansong if the car delivers as much as he does.

6.0 Lance Stroll - Anonymous most of the season which is a step up from being his usual catastrophic self. A very average driver who really should make way. Expect him to be outclassed again next year whatever Newey deilvers.

4.0 Jack Doohan - Hard to rate as he wasn't given enough time. Seemed largely unremarkable but his replacement didn't justify the sacking. On track anyway.

7.5 Pierre Gasly - Frequently popped up in 'how did Gasly do that' moments but the car never gave him opportunities to capitalise. I think the Renault chassis isn't the issue so next year's engine might help him shine.

6.0 Esteban Ocon - It's probably time that team bosses started asking what exactly Esteban brings on his best weekends and if it's enough to justify the ordinary ones.

8.0 Oliver Bearman - Strong debut season where he frequently impressed. A Ferrari seat beckons in the near future if he can keep it up.

9.0 Isack Hadjar - The most impressive debut season in many a year. Big questions to answer next year though in what could make or break his career. France is long overdue a top driver.

6.0 Liam Lawson - Never though he should have been in the Red Bull and I can't fully see why Tsunoda got the boot over him for next year. Borderline defensive moves on occasion too.

7.0 Alexander Albon - Pendulum season for Albon. It began with him making Sainz look beneath him until the Spaniard made it swing the other way. They're a good pairing but time will tell which will dominate the other.

7.5 Carlos Sainz Jr - Difficult start to the year and involved in some silly incidents both blameless and to blame but made some big results come his way in the latter half of the year. Could be de facto team leader next year.

7.5 Gabriel Bortoleto - Didn't have it all his own way but bested Hulkenberg in Qualifying sessions they both entered (if you add Brazil which Gabi skipped it's a draw) but struggled on unfamilar tracks. Promising start.

7.0 Nico Hulkenberg - A much improved year from the perennial nearly man, whose experience really should tell over his teammate. That it was so close says more about Bortoleto than Hulk. Next year might be telling.

5.0 Franco Colapinto - No signs of improvement, occasionally close to Gasly but seemed to be on screen less often than Valtteri Bottas this season. If the money runs out so will his time.
