Should have been Luke Littler, world champion and won multiple titles in 2025

Norris is reliant on his hundreds of engineers to produce a winning car for him to drive, McIlroy went 10 years between major 3 and major 4, the Lionesses would get thrashed by a male non league team by a cricket score. Luke Littler has transformed a sport single handedly, tickets for the darts world championship were 4x over subscribed, easier to get a Glastonbury ticket than a ticket to the darts world championship.

Unfortunately darts will never get a look in at this prize. If Phil Taylor, the most dominant player in an individual sport of all time couldn't win it, then no one ever will.

Not sure why it took 10 years to win his complete major is a factor for McIlroy, literally only 5 other golfers in the history of the sport have achieved that, he also led the Ryder Cup team to victory in America as well as winning other tournaments through the season.

And I’m not sure il comment on the Lionesses achievement you’ve tried to undermine by comparing apples to oranges which makes no sense.

I got bored with such anti-female sports comments, especially in football and ice hockey.

I am not being anti female in the slightest, I watched the all Lionesses games in the world cup and Euros and took great pleasure at their achievements, but women’s football is so small compared with the mens game that I don’t feel it is a big enough sport for such awards as SPOTY. Harry Kane getting the golden boot in a world cup didn’t earn him SPOTY or even close and this was someone dominating the biggest and most popular sport in the world

Undermining female achievements because a mans achievements are bigger, is an anti female comment.

Plus, this is something a little fun we are deciding here on a forum that has a sport sub forum, so bringing this argument is entirely redundant. This is not the BBC, it's not that serious.

I went with

Cash / Glasspool

Ellie Kildunne

Michelle Agyemang

for different reasons.

I love darts, it's one of my faves to watch, Littler has brought a whole new attention to the sport and is achieving pretty much everything he can in the sport at such a young age, i'm just voting for maybe those that might not have had as much attention for their achievements.
