Clodagh was a fave when I was a kid and teen, loved her first 2 hits, and Eurovision song was good too, and Lady Love Bug was fun, I managed to tape that off the radio at the time. Save Me was fab in 1976 too. Marina's had some good stuff over the last decade or so, too, but my love is for Clodagh, being old and all that 😄

Clodagh is the one from three most prettiest blonde singers of 70s, together with Twiggy and Mary Hopkin.

Thats a really nice recording for something almost 100 years old! The romantic lyrics of that era often bordered on cliche but its rather sweet hearing terms like "dearie" that have dropped out of use

  • I can't recommend her for everybody, but she is funny enough despite strict/maybe even rude lyrics.

Those first two MARINA albums are great, I really like 'Bubblegum Bitch' and especially 'Hollywood' too.

Interesting that 'Bubblegum Bitch' is her biggest song on Spotify nowadays after blowing up on TikTok

BB is my favourite her song, sadly it wasn't a single and didn't have official video.

First album was great. "Electra Heart" is mostly melancholic and depressive album, which hard to listen from start to finish.

I follow Mary Hopkin on social media which is something that would have seemed like Star Trek science-fiction magic when I went mad on Those Were The Days and Goodbye and Temma Harbour! 😮

I don't have any interest in their late music, when all original members left the band.

The third one is a grower. I'm a Ruin is amazing. It's outro is so Tori.

Oh yes I'm a fan of FROOT too, just mentioned the first two projects based on the 'favourite songs' picks here - agreed that 'I'm A Ruin' is a stunner.

I started losing interest after that era sadly.

So did I. I must try again because I'm sure there's good stuff somewhere.

I didn't like the second album very much. I felt she removed anything that was interesting about herself for the sake of having a more successful career.

I was very disappointed by "Froot" era, so almost didn't listen her later material.

"Venus Fly Trap" and one another song (forgot the title) were very good.

Christina Aguilera

Country : United States

My song choice : Keeps Gettin' Better

Other favourite songs :

Genie 2.0 : www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGvaGX7kTK8

Not Myself Tonight : www.youtube.com/watch?v=wt-tHcQR67Y

Ain't No Other Man : www.youtube.com/watch?v=8x7Ta89QLo4

Candyman : www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ScjucUV8v0

I strongly dislike three main hits from "Stripped" era (Beautiful, Fighter, Dirrty), but she deserved to be in top 100. Mostly for her lovely vintage "Back To Basics" album and some other singles.

Do we have anybody else here, who prefer Genie 2.0 over the original ?

K3 are great, it's weird that they came to prominence with Heyah Mamah in the Belgian 1999 ESC national final and it didn't even win. The same national final contained another loser that become a European hit too weirdly (Belle Perez - Hello World). Well done Belgium for throwing out two hit singles in a national final.

My favourite from that NF is Sarah De Koster - He's The One, but it was weak NF.

Best Belgium Eurovision related song is already mentioned Femme Fatale - Decadence from 2008 year.
