June 7Jun 7 Didn't watch a minute of it, muted his name on Twitter, won't be acknowledging it's happened or I just won't be able to enjoy tennis for a while.I hope everyone is as quick to discredit his win like so many trolls have done for Emma Raducanu, he never faced anyone in the top 10 to win his like they say for her. So, he got lucky.Anyways, worst GS, worst possible GS winner. On to Wimbledon, Sinner better have sorted his health out because I can't have this happen again. Edited June 7Jun 7 by Viper*
June 7Jun 7 Author Last two German male Grand Slam winners have both been convicted. It's the winner that no-one in tennis wanted.

Plus, even if I don’t particularly enjoy the journalists in question, there was a few of them that even refused to cover the final or his winning and obviously that’s where they make most of their money with coverage of the GS finals and they were willing to miss out to make sure he received the least press possible.

June 11Jun 11 Serena Gutted for her and Vicky! Really hope her and Muchova can have a nice couple of matches in Berlin. Unsure if she's getting a WC for just singles or doubles or both. I love her in doubles to be fair.I love her and she is the GOAT no doubt, I just worry that singles might be a little too much too soon because i'd hate to see her go out to some absolute random who plays their best tennis match of their lives then does absolutely zero of note for the rest of their career (hello Harmony Tan).
June 12Jun 12 Katie getting her biggest career win so far in Rybakina AND it being the second match she played in one day, maybe tennis is healing!!

Would love to see an all Brit final, but Katie has a very tricky semi final with a solid grass court opponent (Vekic) and Emma has to do the double today and her semi final opponent (Jovic) is also proving to be good on the grass, won Ilkley last year and has now taken a step up in tournaments and has so far shown good potential, especially vs Anisimova. My instinct suggests a Boulter vs Jovic final.

What’s helped Vekic is a pretty easy draw including a walkover, I don’t think she’s been properly tested here yet.I’d love to think that Emma could win both matches today but according to the order of play, if she does beat Rakhimova then the gap between finishing and starting again won’t be as big as Katie’s and I can imagine the fatigue hitting her more. Plus as you say Jovic seems to have a pretty big grass friendly game and has had a huge rise over the year - Anisimova being out of form has helped her get one step further but I can absolutely see Emma falling to her, potentially Katie too but the latter has more fire behind her recently.
June 13Jun 13 Second WTA final of the year for Emma tomorrow, hopefully this time she finally gets that second title, but I'd also be really happy for Donna Vekic too considering how narrowly she missed out on making the Wimbledon final two years ago.

One of the best grass court tennis matches i've seen in recent years was Konta vs Vekic at Wimbledon - 10-8 in the final set. Emma was brilliant in her second match especially yesterday, I absolutely have not seen her near that level for a long time. I REALLY hope that she can get the win today because it will shake off a little bit of the negativity but it will be very difficult.

But she looked completely overwhelmed and was out played in last final. Unfortunately, she's started slow today too and Donna has come out firing. So it could be a hard battle but still plenty of time left.
June 14Jun 14 I feel like I need a triple heart bypass after that match. The way it started it looked like Emma had no chance, it looked like Vekic was playing even better than on her 2024 Wimbledon run and her game had returned fully to its peak, but once she dropped her level in the second set and Emma retained her strength and got 5-2 up with set points along the way, I thought okay, she has a great shot now as Vekic collapses when she’s in her head. Those set points being choked away I knew that was her shot gone, but her fightback to the tiebreak and fending off match points gave some form of hope, it’s just a shame that her nerves clearly control her in big moments because some of those points later on she clearly could have won if she focussed, such as one volley where Vekic was miles away from the court and Emma tapped the ball into the net. Really disappointing.
