Interestingly Shadow of a Man played during the announcement. That also played when she first teased the Mayhem era at the end of the Chromatica Ball. Full circle vision!

I am speechless, absolutely speechless.

I cannot believe I’m saying this whilst half asleep in bed and having watched the performances. Gaga’s ability to TWIST each and every song, re-arrange them and form a complete different element to it is breathtaking. I am utterly speechless and blown away by this ‘Mayhem: Requiem’ project.

It’s very clear that her next project might even be darker than ‘Mayhem’?? It’s very industrial-grunge driven and rock has clearly been an inspiration for Gaga’s visual head recently. Even in the middle when she’s tried to lift the mood of the set, the songs has an underlying tone of weariness to the tracks, which give it a false ‘light’ tone and an element of false happiness and uncertainty, before returning back darker. It essentially goes dark -> light -> dark.

Standouts for me are ‘Abracadabra’ (that f***ing twisted breakdown??)’, ‘LoveDrug’, ‘Shadow Of A Man’ and last but not least, ‘Die With A Smile’. Oh my good lord, the song has went from major key to complete minor, twisted in a way in what once served as a happy ending song, turned into the most depressive funeral song giving it a complete different meaning to it. There’s nothing to smile about it, except pure misery. What a complete 360 on the original and WHAT A WAY TO END!

Little Monsters who critique Gaga’s ‘less inspired work/safe tracks’ will love this project. It’s very experimental and right up their alley in what they want Gaga to deliver on a consistency basis.

There is nothing ‘The Dead Dance’ and ‘Shape Of A Woman’ about this from a production level. This is complete DarkGa.

I’m so sad to hear this is the last of ‘Mayhem’, and to hear it from her mouth means that’s it (although she has a tendency to lie about her projects gaga).

Part of me is thinking, she’s rushing the closure of ‘Mayhem’ as she already has her next project lined up in her sleeve??? She’s never properly concluded an era before in the past, and for her to conclude what would be one of her shortest eras is making me think she’s got further projects already lined up that she wants to get going to.

I bought the album on iTunes for £12. If you buy the album you get all tracks audio, intro, interludes as well as all the performances for that price!

I last heard you said Gaga releases shit songs compared to another artist gaga.

I REALLY NEED STUDIO VERSIONS OF THIS LIVE ALBUM, PLEASE! Like HOW did she even make an album of live covers/re-arrangements, BETTER than the original. My mind is completely baffled.

This is eligible for the Grammy 2027 awards!

(I do think it’ll be Olivia Dean’s year of sweeping NGL, with Rosalia being a close second favourite but it’s still something to recognise, and I firmly believe ‘Mayhem’ deserves it over the both of their albums!)
