Posted February 11Feb 11 Ladytron's 8th album Paradises is due out on March 20th. It will be a 16-track album and five songs have been released.I wasn't very fond of their last few albums but I love their first four (604, Light & Magic, Witching Hour, Velocifero) and the singles from this one are surprisingly so good omg. I can't believe they've finally done it again.I Believe In YouIn BloodKingdom UnderseaI See RedA Death in LondonSecret Dreams of ThievesSingFree, FreeMetaphysicaCaught in the Blink of an EyeEvergreenOrdinary LoveWe Wrote Our Names in the DustHeatwavesSolid LightFor a Life in London(I haven't watched the music videos so I don't know what they're like but just putting them here anyways)
March 20Mar 20 Author This is out today and I've had a listen. I think when I initially heard the singles I was just really excited so I thought the album was gonna be great, but it was just kinda alright to have on in the background kind of... which is similar to their last few albums. It was a nice enough listen, but I don't think I'll be jumping to go back to it a lot (I also have so much other music I can listen to which doesn't help in this case). There are also some clichés both lyrically and musically, and I also think the album is a bit too long, at 16 tracks and 1 hour 11 minutes. But yeah, it's nice enough.I do still really like 'A Death in London', and from the ones I hadn't heard I picked out 'Ordinary Love', which kind of felt like it didn't even belong on this album haha. The one-minute instrumental 'Heatwaves' is lovely as well.
March 24Mar 24 I love their old stuff and lost interest in them sadly after 4th or 5th album. Curious actually to hear this set
