To be fair it’s not the biggest shock that she was dropped, each album had diminishing returns. Great that she’s still releasing though.

February 27Feb 27 Verse 1 is always gonna remind me of Jade. Referencing 3 of her songs is interesting. Nothing different here. Is okay. Like the last 48 seconds quite a bit
March 2Mar 2 Yeah I can’t tell if the hook is in my head for a good or a bad reason, the rest of the song is decent but would be one of/the worst on her last 2 albums. Hoping what comes next will be better, same boat as Bebe actually.Still, I for one hope she doesn’t change her sound too much. The lack of RedOne-esque pop bops makes her music stand out these days and really caters to that sector of my music taste, her last 2 albums did it brilliantly. It may be safe and her token sound now, but I’d rather that than the current pop trend of either edgy apathetic minimalist pop or garage band malfunctioning printer music pop.
March 2Mar 2 Love her live stream recently where she said she was happy to be out of the Khia Asylum now she’s released this song.Either she doesn’t know what that phrase means or she’s delusional xIf we’re comparing her to Bebe - at least it feels like Bebe really tries and is passionate about what she does. Ava has been making different shades of the same song for about 6 years and while some definitely do hit, I don’t think this is one sadly.

March 3Mar 3 I love that the Queen reference in the song title is a double meaning, like 'yass queen' and the band Queen. The production sounds like a normal Ava production with added elements that sound like Queen, like the Brian May style guitar and the theatrical backing vocals. The single cover even uses the same font that Queen use, and I suppose the title is a nod to 'Killer Queen' too. I think it's a pretty clever homage, and quite a catchy song too.
March 4Mar 4 I heard it on radio today, probably the first Ava Max song I’ve heard played on radio since My Head & My Heart.
