There's definitely PR involved but that's the same for any celebrity situation. It doesn't mean the accounts of what happened, which now entirely corroborates between all parties involved, are false or made up. Of course, none of us were there to be able to say for sure, and perhaps we'll never know the full story, but I think we can only act on what we know. Whilst I don't think a critical eye is a bad thing when it comes to celebrity statements, we don't have anything else to go off either and when all accounts agree, I struggle to believe anything different occurred.

There's a wider discussion to be had around celebrity and fan interactions and what is and isn't appropriate but for this specific incident, it seems clear to me now that the guard was the one in the wrong and it didn't come from Chappell (and I'm really glad that it's been cleared up and more than happy to eat humble pie based on my earlier posts that were much more critical of Chappell).
