Posted March 31Mar 31 Tonight sees the final friendly in England before the World Cup which sees England taking on Japan for the first time since 2010.How do you see this one going?
March 31Mar 31 England have never been beaten by an Asian team. Japan 1-0 up at the moment.Last game before the two in the US just before WC kicks off.Brazil v Croatia, England's first WC opponents, live on ITV4 at 1am. Edited March 31Mar 31 by CRAZY CHRIS
March 31Mar 31 That team put out tonight was dreadful. Foden false 9 is absolutely laughable, guy can't even get in the City team. Same with White at Arsenal. Palmer has been mostly anonymous this season. Gordon is nowhere near international quality, the fact he's nailed on to start at the WC is a sorry thought. Anderson is also massively overrated. But the main thing i noticed is not a single player wants to be playing a pointless friendly at this point of the domestic season. No one busting a gut to do anything...
March 31Mar 31 Author It should be an honour to play for your country, completely toothless from England. Fair play Japan.
March 31Mar 31 Author Before Tuchel took over, England had not lost to an African team or an Asian team.Since then. Those records have gone.
March 31Mar 31 Japan were really good. Not sure you can read too much in to the result though, missing Kane, Saka and Rice who all walk in to the team. But I do think it shows a big weakness is we are so easy to play against if we don't have a focal point.. and our back up focal points are pretty rubbish. Not really a fan of us playing a false 9, as Dobbo says, Foden is absolutely pish and should be nowhere near the plane. Also think we went too Arsenal that game, real lack of width from full backs. I think Tuchel will have learned a lot though from this camp.
Wednesday at 18:285 days I predict we'll win all 3 group matches in the WC then the tournament proper begins. Brazil beat Croatia in Florida last night and looked good. We could get Germany in the R16.
Wednesday at 21:015 days England don’t really have any good strikers apart from Kane anymore imo, if he gets injured there’s no way you go any further than R16!

Issue is Solanke's confidence is shot, Calvert-Lewin isn't great, Toney plays in Saudi, Watkins is whofully out of form, then you have players like Delap who need a move if they want a chance..
