Chart Commentary:

It is congratulations to Lux Terminus who have only the eighth song ever to have spent ten weeks at #1 with their breakthrough 'Electrocommunion', and the second in the 2020s. The song is also the longest running #1 ever in the rock genre. Although as the song was released in 2018, Ben Hemsley remains the only to have a song released in the 2020s.

The band also broke another longevity record with 'The Courage To Be' which currently sits at #2 for a fourth week. With a runtime of 20:56 it is the lengthiest entry in Hot Hitstory. A third title 'Mosaic Mind' arrives at #10.

Meanwhile ascending to third place is the latest effort from Grum, 'Slow Motion' which if it ends up hitting #1 would be his fourth. Fat Dog have their fifth top ten hit in 'Go f*** Urself', reaching a new all-time peak for the band at #4. Jump Source's breakthrough hit 'Shattered' climbs to #5 whilst currently representing Danæviia in BJSC. Former entrants Kalandra climb to #8 with their Norwegian-language interpretation of Radiohead's 'Everything In Its Right Place'.

More rock breakthroughs this week come from Thy Catafalque (#6), Moron Police (#15) and Exploring Birdsong (#23) with the more familiar name of Muse bookending the top 40 with their new'un. For EDM we have Lane 8 with another pre-album release track in at #22 featuring Davey Havok of AFI as vocalist and Tomora get a boost to #36 to claim their first such hit.

Last week saw a number of Eurovision entries following the conclusion of the yearly contest. The song that convincingly won from Belarus' Dara appears the highest this week at #32 whilst the Finnish entry drops to #35. The Greek entry had also made the top 40 but exits this week. However the highest of them all is the interval act Parov Stelar whose 'Black Lilies' sits at #16.
