It's the 21st Eurovision entry to top my charts in 56 years, though the oldest remains Gigliola's Cinquetti's 1964 winner, and the first to do in 1970 was Dana with All Kinds Of Everything. Kudos to JONAS LOVV who gives Norway another one on the list, after Fairytale was the first for Alexander Rybak in 2009. Co-incidentally Dana's best record by far is a different song called Fairytale from 1976. For now that means Reverend & The Makers have to satisfied with a runner-up slot with album track Crying Over You. Must be the next single, surely...?

The highest new entry is by way of tribute to the late Clarence Carter and his show-stopping tale of struggle and poverty, Patches, from 1970 - I didnt hear it much at the time, knew it better in 1975, but it peaked at 5 anyway and returns at 81. Katy Perry also returns with The One That Got Away, which topped my chart in 2012, her 2nd. I must say it's satisfying seeing tracks I really rate enough to top my personal charts (see Black Eyed Peas recent comeback with Rock That Body) but which underperformed in the charts of the time become the ones that hit again for them. "Told you so!"

Robin Schulz returns for a 12th year-span of charting, his 8th, at 92 with Better Times, a good dance tune, Kylie's also back adding to her huge list of chart entries related to her 3-part career retrospective on Netflix - Light Up at 94. That'll be 38 years of non-stop charting then. The Script havent done much chart-wise for a while, but drop a Hall Of Fame-styled newie at 97, Man In The Arena, for a first chart entry in 9 years and increasing their chart span to 18 years. ANOTR debuts at 98 with Talk To Me, and In Color ditto at 99 with Headlights.

Thanks for the comments and picks, 11 weeks is a good run for a track, mine tend to take longer as I only hear them when I'm out in my car or play them once a week on the big stereo loudly, unless radio has picked up on them - which is why ANOTR has taken a while, not really heard it much!

Oh crikey still off! Poor you, on crutches and not the more fun kind either! 😯I thought the least they do these days was steel toe-cap boots - of course they do cripple you if you try and walk in them for a few hours and end up with lifelong toe and knee problems, so I would always sign that I have received them, and then put them in the car boot never to be used again 😄Trainers only!

Master Jack wasn' a UK hit I guess as the still-new Radio 1 didnt playlist it, and it was too modern for then Radio 2, they liked more cheerful singalong stuff! I know it was hard for new acts from abroad to get work permits in the UK to come over and promote and they were prob busy in Aus and the USA anyway.

Reliquia still gives me goosebumps when I play it - oddly the lyrics really get to me (as I can work most of them out despite my Not Quite O Level standard Spanish) as well as her vocal and the gorgeous arrangement. Needs to be a massive hit but won't be. I'm on episode 1 Kylie, all fascinating stuff with the home videos and backstories. And yes I'm looking forward to chopping the chart down but it's not happening any time soon, the new releases I'm buying exceed the available slots even with most droppers vacating the top bottom 50!
