My point was simply that there have been all sorts of conspiracy theories going around lately about these third-place matches being manipulated, and one of them is that Ghana supposedly doesn't want to win because one of their players can't enter Canada.

Either way, I'm really not a fan of this new format. Having so many host countries just makes everything feel messy, and it's strange that a team can qualify for the knockout stage after winning just one match. They can even end up with an easier draw than some of the teams that finished first in their groups. Overall, the whole format just feels pretty unbalanced to me.
