Clean Bandit and Biig Piig are currently on course to secure a second consecutive week at Number One with their hit "I Don't Wanna Hurt You".

However, the British electronic music group is facing fierce competition as a wave of unprecedented volatility hits the top tier of the chart, with several heavyweights bypassing the lower rankings entirely to debut in the Top 10.

A Historic Takeover

Despite the fierce competition, Clean Bandit is currently executing a remarkable takeover of the chart, occupying an astonishing four positions within the Top 20 and scoring new peaks further down the board.

Whilst "I Don't Wanna Hurt You" successfully defends the summit as a non-mover, the group's collaboration with Jess Glynne, "Real Love", has caught a massive weekend tailwind, rocketing 17 places to sit at number five to secure a brand-new peak position. Furthermore, their track "I Miss You" featuring Julia Michaels has scored an explosive re-entry at number nine, whilst "Rather Be" climbs 16 spots to reach number 16.

Their dominance extends even further into the Top 40. "Rockabye" has surged up to a new peak of number 32, and "Solo" is following right behind it, climbing to a new peak of number 33.

The weekend update has been largely defined by a series of historic new entries.

British producer Wilkinson has debuted straight at number three with "Afterglow", completely bypassing the lower tiers to crash onto the podium. Tiësto & Dzeko's "Jackie Chan" has mirrored this formidable manoeuvre, arriving fresh at number four. Meanwhile, Rudimental's "Feel the Love" featuring John Newman has also made a significant splash, entering directly at number eight.

The influx of new arrivals has resulted in punishing drops for several former chart-toppers.

Dave and Tems' "Raindance", a heavyweight track that previously dominated the Number One spot for an impressive seven weeks, has slipped out of the top five, falling four places to number seven.

Further down the chart, we are seeing solid upward momentum alongside some massive surprise returns. Jorja Smith and Wizkid are making waves, currently sitting comfortably at number 28 with "Alive".
