Ariana takes a third week at top - one of the biggest songs of the year so far. Amara ctk100 climbs 6 places to #2. Kasia DVD and Margaret are new in my Top 10 making it three artists from Poland in my Top 10 together with Luna - seven in the whole Top 40. Poland the rising pop nation of the year for me.

Highest new entry is another dark banger from Nessa Barrett - so looking forward to her album. Second highest new entry is a pop BOP from Inna Truu. Third highest new entry is the @uhsting banger Gayush - great recommendation - I totally love it - this must be the first Armenian song in my charts, but unfortunately to late for the ART-Pop contest.

Overall, another great week with 15 new entries.

Hi pal,

Glad to see Kacey Musgraves reaching Top 20 with Mexico Honey😊

Offrec. Are you OK that some of your chartrunners like Kasia DVD ✧ – Syren and Inna Truu – Test Drive, for example, are AI-created?

Not aware of it so far. For Inna Truu it seems to be true, but Kasia DVD seems to be a real person long time involved in bands and as DJ.

You're right, Kasia is real) but nevertheless, the question is more philosophic - whether we should welcome AI-generated music or treat it like something "artificial" or "unreal" to date? What do you think?🙂

Personally, I try to keep AI stuff off my chart out of respect for the real artists' work.😉

I am with you, but sometimes a song slips through. It is not that obvious nowadays.

I let chatgpt analyse both songs and this is the conclusion:

Audio assessment

Track

Audio-only AI suspicion

Verdict

Kasia DVD ✧ – Syren

Low: roughly 10–20%

Probably a conventional human recording

Inna Truu – Test Drive

High: roughly 70–85%

Likely AI-generated or substantially AI-assisted

These percentages are subjective forensic estimates, not detector scores.

Kasia DVD ✧ – “Syren”

I hear heavy vocal production, but not convincing signs of a generated singer.

Positive signs of a human performance:

  • The Polish consonants and word endings remain clear and consistent.

  • Her vocal identity stays stable between the quieter verses, stronger choruses and repeated final section.

  • Breaths, attacks and phrase endings behave naturally.

  • There are small timing and intensity variations that sound like deliberate performance rather than uncontrolled synthesis.

  • The English refrain has the same accent and vocal character as the Polish sections.

  • The doubles and harmonies sound like conventional layering and processing.

  • The production develops coherently; synths, drums and vocal effects do not unpredictably mutate between sections.

The repeated passage near the end is highly processed and loop-like, but that is standard electronic-pop production. I did not hear obvious word deformation, sudden changes of singer identity, impossible breaths, garbled syllables or unstable vocal formants.

The file also contains the composer credit Katarzyna Gołomska, although embedded credits alone cannot prove human creation.

Verdict on “Syren”

No meaningful audio evidence that it is an AI-generated song. AI-assisted mixing or mastering remains possible, as with almost any modern recording, but the vocal sounds like a processed human performance.

Inna Truu – “Test Drive”

This one contains several features that make me considerably more suspicious.

1. Vocal identity is less stable

The voice changes subtly between the verse and chorus—not merely in intensity, but in its apparent throat shape, brightness and age. Some transitions sound like the model is reconstructing the singer rather than one vocalist moving naturally between registers.

The most suspicious areas are approximately:

  • 0:15–0:45: opening verse

  • 0:50–1:25: first hook and chorus

  • 1:38–2:20: second verse

  • 2:25 onward: final chorus sequence

2. Consonants are occasionally softened or reconstructed

Some words begin clearly but lose definition internally. Consonants occasionally dissolve into the surrounding reverb, while vowels remain unusually smooth. That “sharp beginning, smeared middle, polished vowel” pattern is common in generated vocals.

It is particularly noticeable in phrases involving words such as:

  • “headlights”

  • “window”

  • “driving”

  • “believe me tonight”

  • some of the repeated “yeah” extensions

None is a catastrophic glitch, but there are multiple mild examples.

3. The sustained vowels sound unnaturally manufactured

The extended notes on “know,” “drive,” “tonight” and the repeated “yeah” phrases have:

  • very even tone;

  • unusually smooth pitch movement;

  • little natural instability;

  • occasional formant movement that does not fully match the pitch movement.

Strong Auto-Tune can create some of this, but taken together it resembles an AI-generated lead vocal more than ordinary correction.

4. Breathing and phrasing are inconsistent

There are audible breaths in places, but they do not always correspond naturally to the length or physical effort of the surrounding phrase. Elsewhere, long sequences occur with little audible respiratory preparation. Generated systems often insert plausible-sounding breaths without maintaining a consistent physical singer.

5. The lyrics and prosody strengthen the suspicion

The lyrics are grammatically acceptable but contain the characteristic combination of:

  • cinematic imagery;

  • repeated thematic keywords;

  • vague relationship stakes;

  • metaphor accumulation;

  • awkward or weakly motivated lines.

Examples include the sequence involving hearts “doing donuts in the dark,” spinning wheels, future faces, roads, signs and traffic lights. It feels like variations generated from a night drive / uncertain relationship prompt.

Individual human songwriters can certainly write this way. The concern is the combination of generic imagery, structural repetition and artificial-sounding delivery.

6. The backing track also has generative characteristics

The arrangement is polished but comparatively anonymous. Some background textures seem to morph rather than behave like clearly programmed synth parts. Transitions introduce and remove detail without a strong production rationale. It resembles the kind of competent, genre-correct dark house/pop arrangement produced by current music-generation systems.

That said, the instrumental evidence is weaker than the vocal evidence.

Thus, Test Drive will be excluded from next week's chart. It was in NMF Suomi, where I did not expect AI music.

Dnh is continuing to do decently well.and hopefully this will continue. It's fun.

Marianne is great and I think the first Fontaines DC track I've ever enjoyed.

I feel same for Ariana's song. She hardly had a #1 in my charts before. Brand new chanel$ is really a grower for me.
