September 13Sep 13 Is Central Cee R1 toast now? The Team kinda slaps, sounds nothing like the cheap landfill rap he made his name with. Kinda like his Ladbroke Grove but more melodic/emotional. And I hated most of his stuff when he was Radio 1 A-list royalty!R1 aren't really into rap at the moment, are they? September 13Sep 13 Bottle’s getting plays here and there but not playlisted, not frequent enough for it to be a pattern so its probably just a track they want to highlight rn. It’s the same for the new Beyoncé and Pharrell track.

Right now UK rap isn't doing well in either chart for the most part.

Kind of miss the ones R1 used to love like Two Door Cinema Club and Vaccines. Will they support Foals and Bombay Bicycle Club when they come back or do they now belong to a bygone era? Been quite a while now. I know every guitar band reaches the end of their Radio 1 life eventually, apart from Coldplay. I love a good old dance banger too but will admit the tunes from that genre are starting to get a bit blander and more forgettable, we need some stronger hooks and more robust songwriting. Don't wanna go through the Geese strangled horse vocals thing again but I'll never get the appeal. Definitely don't want to sound like someone's dad though (even though I am), anyone who looks at my personal charts will see that I still love a lot of what Radio 1 get behind (and in any case it's the Radio 2*/6Music**-leaning songs that get on my nerves the most so no point telling me to just go there full-time), plus I'll always listen to it because there's nowhere else to go when you like a bit of everything. There have been many times where we've all moaned about the absence of certain songs only for them to magically appear on the playlist the next week. September 15Sep 15 I bet if Oasis DID put anything new out Radio 1 would pretend not to playlist it but still have it on several times a day like Dai Dai. Think they kind of did this with Wall of Glass off of Liam. The Gallaghers could always work with a K-Pop band to make it "published list on the internet" official. God I'd like to hear that.
