It's an early chart this week, as I'm off on another holiday on Monday - you wait 6 months for one and 2 come along at once - and it's a celebrity Madonna & Kylie double top, as Love Sensation climbs there on it's 15th week helped by the remix, but both versions are fab. That means Kylie's first chart-topper in 3 years and Madonna's in 7 years, giving her a number one in the last 5 consecutive decades, something only Pet Shop Boys have also done. It's Kylie's 17th chart-topper, and Madonna's 22nd, she pulls back equal with Michael Jackson 4th on the all-time list, leaving Elton dropping to 6th.

Jungle have 2 top 5's, Etta James gets a second posthumous top 10, after At Last topped and charted 3 times, Stormy Weather is a great song. The highest new entry is a track off Miley Cyrus' new album, Redlights leap-frogging the climbing Bass Persuades at 74 in at 30. Midge Ure has done his own studio version of his classic Fade To Grey song and production, as hit by Visage 45 years ago, and fresh off his latest tour where it went down very well. New at 75 and Midge has been charting for me for over 50 years now, a mere snip of a boy in the teeny-bop band Slik to start with.

Chaka Khan gets a second Sia hand-out following Chakzilla, and Cool You Down is the third good track off the album, kicking out the Snoop Dogg collab at 82. David Bowie gets a 4th go with 1975 number one Golden Years thanks to a TV spot on Netflix's good-but-not-enthusiastically-received The Boroughs, The Duffer Brothers of Stranger Things' latest series - possibly because of the veteran cast instead of kids, but they always pick great songs - see also Stormy Weather at 10, Bowie at 91.

almost monday make it 2 on the chart as Enjoy The Ride debuts at 95, as do New Radicals at 97 on only their 4th ever chart single, taken from a forthcoming film soundtrack, One Night Only. Stephen Sanchez continues his totting up of recent new tracks with Forgetting Your Kiss at 98, having already had one number one, where New Radicals have had 2. The recent death of drummer Frank Beard from ZZ Top gives me an excuse to let another oldie in, Gimme All Your Loving back after 42 years away, not that there aren't several more oldies lined up waiting for some to exit...
