Apparently confirmed during their Good Morning Britain interview today, a new album is coming in 2027!!!

That is very exciting news!

Bradley McIntosh, Jon Lee, Jo O’Meara, Rachel Stevens and Tina Barrett are doing it all with a remarkable new sense of independence, after splitting from the music mogul who put them together and whose initial they are named after: Simon Fuller.

He had famously had a clutch over their image – and earnings – but now they have struck out for the first time in their career out with a new team, as I first revealed in July.

In an exclusive interview with Bizarre’s S Club superfan Howell, Jon explains: “The way we put it is, we work with people now, rather than for people.”

Brad continues: “I feel like we’ve got more control of what we want to do and the way we want to do it. This is a great time for us to really do things our way.”

“The creative side of things, we’re going to be heavily involved in all of that.
“There were times when some of the ideas that we had were change…or not used!” Tina chimes in.

“We’re all creative people and we all want to show that as well.”

“That’s what we really want to put out – an absolutely phenomenal show.”

Jon says: “It’s the Ain’t No Party Like An S Club Party Tour. So it’s got to be a full out party. It’ll be the biggest party of 2027.”

Brad continues: “One of my favourite tours that we’ve done was the Carnival Tour in 2002 and that was non-stop.”

“This will be Carnival on steroids,” Tina assures us.

But now that they’re all guns blazing with a new team, what else is in store?

Jon teases: “We do have some very exciting projects lined up that are going to be rolling out over the next year basically, but we can’t talk about those yet.”

Rachel winks: “I bet you love it when people say that…”

However, when pressed on the prospect of new music – 28 years after their self-titled debut – Jo confesses: “Yes, that’s one of the projects. “That is something that will definitely happen.”

Of course, their music is still heard everywhere from shops and bars to nurseries and discos across the land, with hits including Reach, Bring It All Back, Never Had A Dream Come True and Don’t Stop Movin’.

Rachel admits: “We have a lot to live up to. Our music, we’re so proud of what we’ve put out there, and I think we’d want to make sure that that’s as good. The industry has changed so dramatically since we released music.”

Brad adds: “I’ve been writing, I’ve got a few ideas in the pipeline but these lot haven’t even heard it yet.”

Fellow Nineties acts like Steps, Boyzone and Take That have done documentaries over the years, and it sounds like that is also in discussion.

“We’re always chatting about this and that but nothing’s set in stone to be honest with you,” Jo says.

But noticeably the original seven-piece line-up is now down to five members. Paul Cattermole devastatingly died of natural causes related to heart issues aged just 46 in 2023, weeks after announcing the full group would be reuniting for a tour.

After that, his former girlfriend Hannah Spearritt admitted the grief triggered panic attacks and she was unable to cope with the demands of being in the group.

Speaking about their former bandmate, who relocated to Costa Rica last year, Jo says: “Hannah has moved herself abroad. “She’s started a whole new life for herself, which is so exciting for her, So she’s over there living life, doing what she’s doing, and we’re over here reaching for the stars. So I think it’s just worked out perfectly for everyone.”

Quizzed on whether she’s given her blessing for the tour, Jo adds: “Absolutely, yeah.”
Tina continues: “And we obviously wish her the best. She’s Hannah. She was part of our journey.”

They’ve also spoken out for about their spat with Claudia Winkleman in 2003 on live television.

In a clip which has since been unearthed and gone viral, a young Claudia asks the group whether they are “grumpy” because they’ve not “made a mint” from their time together.

Then their publicist dramatically storms onto the set and announces: “I’m not having this, we’re going,” pulling them out of the interview.

Explaining what actually happened, Brad says: “We were flat out, we were working so, so hard. We was in that building and we was coming to the end of our day. We was finished.

“As we were leaving the building, they said to us, ‘Can we do an interview?’
“Eventually the team decided, ‘We’ll do your interview, but because it wasn’t planned, can we just avoid that question? Because they’ve been having it all day and the guys are knackered.’

“So we go in to do the interview and what happens? It wasn’t because we were trying to keep it all a secret It was because we’d been having that same question all day.”

Asked how they feel about Claudia, Brad says: “I’ve got no problem with her at all.
“She was just doing her job.” Jon adds: “I would quite like to do Celebrity Traitors actually. I am quite sly. Lies roll off my tongue. I’d be good at that.”

These days, their schedule isn’t as packed as their original run as a group.
“We literally had no time off,” Tina admits. Jo says: “I’m just glad we were young – we wouldn’t be able to do that now.

And it’s clear they felt the pressure from an early stage that they had to work themselves into the ground to be a success. Jon explains: “Back then, you had to work really hard to get to a certain level, then you had to work twice as hard to stay there.
“You didn’t want to be like a flash in the pan. You only had a short shelf life at that time. You just want to take everything you can.”

Tina continues: “The stigma was that pop bands don’t last. You have your five minutes and then you’re replaced. We’re still lucky enough to be still going.”

Their music has certainly stood the test of time, though, with their debut single Bring It All Back being certified double platinum with 1.2million copies just three years ago.

Jon says: “That’s one of the things I’m the most proud of actually, that when we released our first album in 1999, you never ever think that 27 years later people are still going to be listening to it. “We still get 2 to 3 million listeners on Spotify every month.”

Now they are looking forward to their tour and have promised to ask fans which of their favourite album tracks they should bring back for the concerts, on top of the hits.

Rachel says: “It feels like a new chapter and it’s such a privilege to be able to come in and do lovely projects and then come and do a tour. “The fans are always there and there’s so much love for S Club.”

The five of them barely look like they’ve changed a bit in the years since they first broke through. So what’s the secret? “Dancing keeps you young, the industry keeps you young, and so does S Club,” jokes Tina.

On hitting the road again – with tickets on general sale at 9.30am on Friday – Brad says: “If you’re going to do it, do it while your back and your legs and knees still work. “And we’re not getting any younger” “I think we are, Brad,” Rachel butts in with a grin.
