I always set up a poll predicting how many Christmas songs will make the final chart of the year but with charts coming out in Christmas Day and New Year's Day this year, I am lost on which chart to go with so can anyone help me?

as well, streams for other non-seasonal songs often hit their lowest levels between Christmas and the New Year which allows them a further advantage over other tracks

Interesting - almost all tracks climbed, both Christmas and non-Christmas. Was that a week that suddenly loads of songs went to ACR?

a mixture of ACR hits and campaign songs wearing off, the five dropouts were:

45 19 10 Ariana Grande ~ Positions
60 36 20 Miley Cyrus ~ Midnight Sky
61 24 05 Liam Gallagher ~ All You're Dreaming Of
78 01 02 LadBaby ~ Don't Stop Me Eatin'
xx 05 01 The K**ts ~ Boris Johnson Is A F**king C**t

so we'd have had 26 Xmas songs in both weeks had Ari/Miley not been demoted

Of course that was Alex and Numi hosting the chart show on Radio 1.. but they heavily called it "the first number one of 2021", which I would argue correct on week ending date, but in reality I'd call it week 53 of 2020 (see also the cases in 1994/95, 2005/06, 2011/12 and 2015/16).
