i saw hot fuzz a couple weeks ago... am i the only one who didn't like it?? there were a few amusing moments, but no real laugh out loud ones, no one in the cinema was laughing when i went to see it.. no where near as good as SOTD imo -_-

You obviously never saw movies like Point Break, Jurassic Park, Bad Boys, John Woo films, the original Wicker Man etc or you would have understood it more.

Even the comic elements aside it was an outstanding standalone action movie

yeah wished i watched it on five the other week, as some refs were lost on me. however the bad boys ii ref. spot on. my bro loves that film.

and any film that can postmodernly ref the addams family and something like Tom yum goong/warrior king/tony jaa/jackie chan at the same time, in somerfields, is alright by me.

however i agree with the reviews saying it could do with some mins taken out of the run time. would have been a 5 star comedy with a bit of trimming from its two hours. Maybe it would have been better getting it down to the same time as Reno 911 Miami????

also think the soundtrack was great. think it could be def an album ost to buy at some point!!! great tracks!! (dire straights' romeo and juilet not really my type of stuff, but at least it won us two points on the pub's pop quiz so its alright. better than random paul weller tracks from the early 90s that sound like changingman but arent!!!)

i admit i haven't seen all the films you mention, although i did get the Point Break and Bad Boys references.. yes i agree it's a good action movie, but i went in wanting to see a good comedy, like SOTD but i was disappointed -_-

i wouldnt bother, i would wait 13 weeks and you'll be able to get the whole album in tescos for £3.97

I really loved this film, great story, great cast, maybe just about 15 mins too long, but overall really worth seeing!

I didn't laugh ONCE when I went to see Hot Fuzz. Absolute c**p. I dunno how many times I looked at my watch :puke2:

Notes On A Scandal = Best Film of 2007, thus far.
