Motorola, it's one of those flip ones. I only use it as an alarm in the morning.

I'm ashamed of these people. Well, of teenagers who have sex in general. That's really gross. Why can't they wait until they get married. Especially boys who pressure girls. It's very disturbing. :(

When I was a bit younger and had a mobile it was very useful indeed and I mean for other things than the obvious like social life etc. in which not everyone goes out smashing bus shelters or to film each other having sex :rolleyes: When my mum gets worried all she has to do is call my mobile or txt it then I could tell her where I am etc. You can't just ban people from doing things anyway that's just stupid and over the top, and coming from the same people who complain about over the top political correctness with banning things :wacko:

 

I agree with Mushy there comes a time when you have to trust them and these people are in a VERY small minority indeed and not all teenagers are like that at all you're just led to believe that. Just like there's supposed to be gun crime around here and the 'highest stabbing rate' in britain and have had ONE mate get mugged once and that was it, things like this have always happened because they happen, all this would have happened if there were video phones 30-40 years ago too, there is no way you can the minority doing things like this.

I don't think Mushy or anyone else has been calling for the banning of phones, merely the banning of video recording and camera phones, phones are to TALK on or text, no one needs a camera or video on a phone and yes I would fully support the banning of camera phones and video capabilities for under 18's they simply do NOT need them and the nuisance caused to society by them having them (happy slapping etc) far outstrips any benefits of phones having video and camera of which there are none.

 

No one under 18 needs a phone any higher up the scale than Lucy's Motorola

I've found the camera and video capabilites on my phone quite useful ACTUALLY, I don't have a camera currently so when I want to take a picture I can just get my phone out, simple as that. Got so my videos from gigs I've been to and when I suddenly met someone who became quite special to me we took pictures of each on our phones, phones these days are used so you can access a number of things you may want or need anywhere you are. In that case with that logic why not ban them from having cameras and video cameras then as they'd probably film it on that instead if they had that if they're all doing that. :rolleyes: What would they do if they ban them exactly? *someone gets out their phone* Policeman: Is that a video phone sir? Can I see some ID? :lol: And most of the time all this "experts say this" "experts say that" never comes true anyway as their logic says that all children are the same. -_-

@ Mushy - my kids are still at school and so I consider them to be too young for unrestricted access to the internetand phones they they are not allowed to take to school anyway!

 

They use the internet - and msn - a lot. but we have rules AND we have consequences for breaking the rules (which meant once I uninstalled msn for a week :o :o :o ... they obviously thought I wouldn't follow that one through)

 

I agree the sex would be happening anyway ... teenage sex always has! but I doubt these children have been brought up to consider the consequences of their actions .... and so haven't thought through what will happen after they have been videoed having sex. I am sure while consenting at the time, many regret it later.

 

 

(oh and my eldest is phoneless by his own choice - he chooses to spend his money on things other than phone credit)

This is appaling and wrong, why on earth would anybody , let alone 14/15 year olds want to film themselves or others having sex. It is wrong to have it at that age anyway nevee mined record it and bluetooth or send it to every living thing :( :angry:

mine are/were at school when they first had mobies.... i cant see any problem

 

as for restricting internet access.... they see similar images on any pop vid, or vid game IF they chose to access these sites.... putting on parental controls should mean they should be safe online and shouldnt view adult material anyway...

 

teenage sex though HASNT been always happening! not the scale it is today and the std, pregnancy stats bare this out!!! trhere certainly wasnt the sexual/drink/drugs accesses at school when i was there in the early 70's...

 

i see no reason why any phone shouldnt have video capeabilities, again anything will be abused so banning mobys because some might abuse their use is stupid!
