Posted February 23, 200718 yr Avenuen (Mr. Nice Guy) by Trine Dyrholm is currently #1 in Denmark Also it is spending its 100th week on the chart there. Does anyone know of any other single that has spent 100 weeks on the chart anywhere in the world in 1 chart run(except for Canada)? It's not happened in the UK where the record is 122 weeks. This was My Way by Frank Sinatra over about 6 chart runs. In the UK the record is 56 weeks in a single chart run and that was Release Me by Engelbert Humperdink in 1967/8. Does anyone know of any other single that has spent 100 weeks on the chart anywhere in the world (except for Canada)?for consecutive weeks, none that comes to mind. My Way did it in the UK but that wasn't consecutive weeks. In the US the record is 69 (consecutive) weeks. In the UK it's a mere 56 weeks...
February 23, 200718 yr Unless Shakira is still in the top 200 at the end of this year with hips don't lie  ;)
February 23, 200718 yr Might happen in the distant future in the UK now songs aren't removed after a year. Any beats on it being the Scissor Sisters? <_<

February 23, 200718 yr Unless Shakira is still in the top 200 at the end of this year with hips don't lie  ;)though that won't count, the UK charts is still stuck at a top 75 - though she did manage 36 weeks, a record for a female singer...
February 23, 200718 yr or Chasing Cars :rofl:I was hoping Shakira might have broken the 40 week barrier, unfortunately it's not likely to happen now...

February 23, 200718 yr Does anyone know of any other single that has spent 100 weeks on the chart anywhere in the world in 1 chart run(except for Canada)? You might like to check out the statistics for the "Jupiter" single by Ayaka Hirahara (catalogue number MUCD-5046). Released on 2003-12-17, it first appears in the Oricon chart dated 2004-01-12. To date it has had a total of 145 weeks in the charts (highest position of 2) including an initial chart run (if my week count is correct) of 122 weeks. This chart run is in respect of the Japanese Top 200. The CDTV website gives a Top 100 chart run of 82 weeks. Oricon Database notes 1. Oricon publish 51 singles charts per year. Each year there is a combined chart published for weeks 01 and 02 and any record listed in this chart is awarded two weeks towards its number of weeks on chart total. 2. CDTV do not use the official Oricon chart, but differences between the CDTV chart and the official Oricon chart are usually minimal.
