It's an interesting question.

 

History shows at times it's normal to be gay or bi-sexual, that implies to me that what sexual preference we have is all about social conditioning and nothing to do with genes.

 

I disagree, I have not shagged a female in near on 4 years but would I look at a guy and want to shag him ? no I would not under any circumstances, is it because my parents or society has made me not consider going gay ? no not at all so that must mean that I dso not have any genetic gayness in me otherwise surely I would be turned on by a guy if I saw one ? I am 99.9% convinced that gayness is genetic

 

I have a live and let live policy when it comes to homosexuality, it really does not bother me whether someone is gay or straight I judge people on how they are towards me not their bedroom habits but only a tiny % of people are gay so if as you say we are all bi sexual at birth and develop preferences over the years then surely instead of 5% of the country being gay it would be nearer 50% ?

You don't feel gay because you have be brought up in a family and a society, school, media etc where being gay was not the norm, in fact in your case, in a generation where being gay was completely abnormal and a sin against God. With the wrath of God, your parents and family and your teachers all against gays - everyone as a youngest you learn your conditioning would have been deeply set.

If you where born at certain times of the Roman empire where all men where gay you certainly would of been gay also and not thought twice about it.

Yeah but if lets say I see a good looking guy on a beach for example I do not go all warm and fuzzy inside etc and then use willpower to turn myself off the guy which would surely be the case if I am doing what society tells me to do, I am simply not getting the urges in the first place, if what you say was the case I would be staring at this guy and eyeing him up, visually undressing him then saying to myself "nah don't do that Craig what would mum say" but thats not the case at all I simply get no urge to look at him in any way shape or form but if I see a hot looking girl on the beach its a different story lol can't take my eyes off her but not because of what my mum thinks or society thinks but because thats the way I am, I haven't got even 0.1% gayness in me

I have never fancied a girl and my family have always told me it i wrong to be gay etc but i'm still gay... people may have not been able to be gay in in the past, due to thembeng killed for beng so but they still would have been gay... just forced themselves to pretend that they are straight.

:lol: It's Ok :P Strangely, it was acceptable to be gay in Roman times, herecy in the Dark ages, Medieval times, okish on the quiet in Victorian times, illegal for most of the 20th Century and now its almost acceptable again. Makes you wonder what the future holds :wacko:

'conditioning'?.. nah... its within you, inherant traits at birth and whatever your tastes are they are manifest or not if the oportunity in life presents.

 

in the 60's when i was a kiddy we knew absolutely nothing about sex until i was 10!!! however i fancied girls for as long as i can ever remember, way before i knew anything about sex! i was born with my tastes, no one conditioned me! and the times ive heard gay men telling me "they have always been gay, they were born that way" number greatly...

This times when everyone in the roman empire was gay have never existed except in some people´s fantasies and maybe porn movies...
