Scooch is worse than last year's entry which is was awful enough in itself. This won't be going top 10 methinks, at Eurovision or at home.

Well, if you say there are only 3 novelty acts, and we have one of them, surely we will stand out above many bland ballads that other countries may have put forward? Scooch are pop anyway, not quite novelty...

The longs standing Cyprus/Greece 12 points is long standing and is entirely political. As is Austria/Germany, all the Balkans, the Baltic states, Scandanavia, I could go on.

And you should chill, all the songs were pants in comparison to most of the music the UK comes out with ^_^

There are 5 novelty acts I can think of, but we're in between two of the strongest ones, meaning we won't stand out at all. And you're saying that Scooch aren't novelty?

Cyprus and Greece isn't entriely political, anyway, I'm sure they've shared the same culture for many years, still backing up my points.

And it's very rare you'll find Germany giving Austria points, they usually only spare one or two for Austria  All the other examples you give share very similar cultures as well, so my point still stands :P

Hawkins & Brown or Cyndi would have gone down AMAZINGLY in Helsinki, so I shall not chill :smoke:

Anyone want the mp3 of the Scooch song, please pm me for the link.

The thing is, the British public won't be able to vote for them in the final, so why put a dire song in there, when other countires won't vote for us, the public just sealed our fate. But than again if Lordi won with a dreadful track, we might just have some hope

Lordi stood out though  We would have stood out with our position and with a strong ballad like Cyndi's or a funky track like Hawkins & Brown's, but we're in the middle of a novelty block so we won't even stand out with our crap track! :(

I do like pure pop music, i loved the band POP! from 2004 but Scooch's song is awful.

Cyndi deserved to win, i want to hear more Cyndi songs.

Is there a site you can download the songs from?

www.keithm.utvinternet.ie, go to the Helsinki 2007 page, scroll down and you can right click on the mp3 tracks and click Save Target As... to save it :cheer:

Or go to the first post on the page and right click the links and choose Save Target As... to get all of the UK songs :cheer:

so what happened with the announcement of the winner  was it a fix or something?

Didn't Terry Wogan say Cindy had won and then a contridiction to that.

I cannot believe they choose 'We are flying the flag' how naff it that.

I really like song 3, the rap one and Hawkins and Brown, both these acts looked great and sounded up to the minute of what the UK is about.

Depends on your definition of novelty

Of course Greece and Cyprus are political, Turkey are next to them, and they don't give them many points! Hmmm, wonder why?!

And its all guessword, the ESC is very unpredictable.

did anyone else notice Justins reaction when they revealed it was Scooch and not him and Beverli?
I agree, Malta to win on the night

Malta 1st needs to pass the semie :)

their song actually grew on me in the past week :D and saw a performance of her on TV today :)

Malta will walk the semis, otherwise I WILL emigrate

I can't believe that Scooch tripe won, it's an outrage! :arrr: I wanted Cyndi to win, we'll come bottom two with that dross.

Ooh i love Finland's entry this year, Hanna Pakarinen is amazing

There's no amazing songs this year, however Olivia Lewis deserves to win for Malta with vertigo.
