Analysis

 

Album Chart: 2 New Entries, 4 Non-Movers, 3 Up, 11 Down: Regina scores 2 new entries with past albums with the 2005 collection Soviet Kitsch the highest going in at No.10!!! Most albums slide a couple this week though Girls Aloud move back up a place with their greatest hits…Stefy and Katharine McPhee leave the top 10…Mika doesn’t budge while Gwen and Take That’s Ultimate Collection slide down the top 10 behind Nelly Furtado’s Loose which sticks at No.6!!! Eurovision 2007 moves up quickly to No.5 while Cascada and Take That swap places seeing the boyband regain a top 3 placing with Beautiful World…Lucie Silvas stays at No.2 for a second week which means that for a 4th week at the top its…Regina Spektor!!!

 

Singles Chart: 4 New Entries, 1 Non-Mover, 8 Up, 7 Down: 3 new songs prop up the chart this week courtesy of Eurovision entrants The Ark (Sweden) and Serebo (Russia) while Gwen’s next single comes in at No.19!!! Regina has two climbers outside the top 10 along with Beyonce & Shakira’s Beautiful Liar which is up 5 at No.14…Lucie Silvas, Pink and Nelly Furtado leave the top 10…Calvin Harris and Cascada fall 5 places each to the bottom of the top 10 while Natasha Bedingfield reaches a new peak of No.8 with Babies!!! Nelly Furtado is up to No.7 with Runaway while Regina Spektor is back up to No.6 with Fidelity…UK Eurovision entrant Scooch smash into the chart in 5th place with Flying the flag (for you) following up their only other hit in my chart, the No.10 single For Sure in 2000…Regina’s Samson jumps to a new high of No.4…Timbaland, Nelly & Justin fall a place to No.3 while Take That also slide a place after 9 weeks in total at No.1…This means that the new No.1 goes to UK dance act Groove Armada with ex-Sugababe Mutya whose Song 4 Mutya is the first No.1 for either act!!!

Bit earlier than usual for the ESC songs but no point in holding them back now I have them all...

 

Serebo will go top 5 eventually I would think and I just don't know where Scooch will go...

***MIDWEEK UPDATE***

 

Groove Armada will be looking for a second week at the top but the midweeks show that this is looking doubtful...Take That are still holding up well as well as Scooch, Regina Spektor and Timbaland...Mark Ronson and Beyonce & Shakira are looking likely for top 10 slots too!!!

 

The album chart looks as if Regina could be on course for a 5th week at the top though the Eurovison album is already in contention for the top slot!!! Cascada, Take That and Lucie Silvas are also in the running...
