We all have music that we love in spite of ourselves. It's usually bizarre or bad music that we just have a weakness for, but when these songs come on the radio I don't change the station for some weird reason (perhaps it's like watching a car crash even though you know its horrible you can't take your eyes off of it).

Sugar, Sugar-The Archies

Lydia - Dean Friedman

Yesterday once more - The Carpenters

MacArthur Park-Richard Harris

Witchita Lineman - Glen Campbell

Mickey - Toni Basil

Howzat - Sherbet

I'm also ashamed to say I have Milli Vanilli - Girl You Know It's True downloaded.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

Okay, here's a few of my dark secrets.....

*ahem*

The early Madonna stuff... You know, "Lucky Star", "Holiday", "Live To Tell"..... I lied about it just being the "Erotica"/"Like A Prayer" type stuff.....

Whitesnake - the eponymous LA album that Coverdale did with Steve Vai.... Totally LOVED it when I was 13/14, and still think one or two tracks are okay...

Pink - Don't Let Me Get Me, well, if I'm being totally honest, it's about half of the "Mizundastood" album actually...... The rockier numbers though....

Eminem - My Name Is... It was funny at the time....

Heart - 'Alone', 'Who Will You Run To' and quite a few others by them...

T'Pau - China In Your Hands and Heart and Soul

(In fact, I sometimes listen to quite a few of these big-hair 80s Rock-Chick bands - Vixen, Warlock, Phantom Blue, Lita Ford, I have whole albums of theirs on my hard drive, I;m sorry, it''s a weakness of mine. I'll just go off in a corner somewhere and die now..... )

 Pinks brill! Although Try This was alot better imo ^_^

As I'm a sucker for a good tune, therefore I have a lot of Guilty Pleasures. They would include:

John Paul Jones - Love Is In The Air

Chas'N'Dave - Ain't No Pleasing You

Dennis Waterman - I Could Be So Good For You

Journey - Open Arms

Debbie Gibson - Only In My Dreams

Gilbert O'Sullivan - Alone Again Naturally

Phil Collins - Against All Odds (It is only the Mariah (S)Carey/Westlife & Steve Brookstein massacres that have killed this song)

Paul McCartney & the Frog Chorus - We All Stand Together

Lionel Richie - Hello

Cliff Richard - Devil Woman

I also like Paul McCartney's Wings, Electric Light Orchestra, 10cc, Genesis (the Phil Collins years), etc.

It's nice to see you are human after all

I'm not commenting on my personal guilty pleasures because tbh, most of my music collection is embarrassing  It'd be easier to tell you what stuff isn't a guilty pleasure

:o The musical snobbery in this thread! I'm not ashamed of anything I like. :D Nor should anyone else be imo.

Well said, David!

I just clicked onto this thread to say pretty much the same thing

"Love Is In The Air" was by John Paul Young.

John Paul Jones was in Led Zeppelin :)

i disagree...

our world leading music scene for the last 50 years has been built on the backs of musicians, artists who have had something to say. encapsulating an emotional moment in time and giving it life through sound and lyrics in order to convey it to others deserves respect. 'party pop' , the 3 minute jingles often the scourge of real music fans is by comparison utterly dead.

ok, they can be catchy, they can be fun, but ultimately they do nothing for the music industry.

but variety has been the backbone of british music for 50 years, and we often subscribe to a particular style for one reason or another. (punk broke down the polarised opinions of the 70's). everyone believes their taste is the best, and of course to them it is! so i dont think its a bad thing to dislike other genres, why like them just to be politically correct?..lol.. however, we all do like something that really doesnt suit our image.

Army of lovers - Crucyfied

Verka Serduchka - Danzing!

Cheeky Girls - Cheeky song

Loads more xD

I suppose all the fashionestas in shoreditch and Islington must be on some other revival now  i'll have to anyalise i-D
