Did anyone else like Madness in the early 80's, I just loved their nutty music and their videos were usually so funny. Songs like, One Step Beyond, My girl, Baggy trousers, Embarrassment, Grey day, It must be love, House of fun, Our house, Driving in my car, Tomorrow's just another day, - all made the top 10 between 79-83, although later their chart success lessened they did reform in the late 90's & had one more top 10 hit with Lovestruck.

I think they were one of the best pop bands of the 80's, who gave us a lot of fun. Any other Madness lovers out there.

they were on that e4 show countdown last night. gave up after that point.

Great band, i bought Divine Madness on Friday. A 2-disc set (CD & DVD).

£10.99 reduced from £16.99 in virgin megastore.

agreed... certainly one of the best pop bands ever.... although most of the fans were alittle younger then me! lol.. always have time for madness...

The Madness were a brilliant band.

My Madness Top5 Songs would be:

1. Our House

2. Night Boat To Cairo

3. It Must Be Love

4. Uncle Sam

5. Baggy Trousers

Madness were one of those acts where I loved the songs but didn't care much for the act! I had the singles Madness / The Prince, One Step Beyond, My Girl, NightBoat To Cairo, Shut Up, It Must Be Love, House Of Fun and One Better Day, plus Absolutely LP and some budget hits compilation in the early 90s.

I saw them in 1995 in Newcastle at the then newly opened Arena but they looked out of place in a 10,000 seater Arena. There was no real atmosphere... Some of my friends saw them back in the early 80s at the more modest sized City Hall where they seemed better suited to the (much) smaller audience and venue layout.
