Posted April 16, 200619 yr Well they have a Live Gig tomorrow, Radio 1 are broadcasting it at 7pm, No.3 on Itunes Download chart, and they did 2 track performance on Jonathan Ross Show last Friday that's if Rihanna does not make it to No.1 next Sunday, it could do a Gnarls Berkley and go straight in at No.1 on pre-release (download sales only) The official release for the single is May 1st
April 16, 200619 yr Possible, getting a lot of coverage and still a week to go before any of the sales are going to have meaning.
April 16, 200619 yr I think its gonna be huge and seen as itunes are also offering the fact that if you pre-order the album you get the single free, that will help its sales and I think the song will be big but the album will be miles bigger.

I cant see how the sales of the single will be chart eligible. One important rule is that a sale, even for downloads, must be a genuine purchase and in addition must not dependant upon the purchase of another product. It would appear that giving away the single breaks both those guiding rules.

ITunes has done this offer before, but it stops the week a single becomes eligible for the charts so it wont fall foul of the rules.
April 17, 200619 yr i LOVE the red hot chili peppers (goin2see the for the first time in july!!!) but i really cant see dani california being that huge, i think itll go top 5 easily but most fans will wait for the album and also i mean its one of the worst songs theyve ever done, the chorus is $h!t, the video isnt that good, i mean the songs only good bit is the final guitar solo...its a really forgettable MOR single...i hope the album is a lot better, tbh half of BTW was quite disappointing
April 17, 200619 yr It'll be close, but i reckon Rihanna will clinch it as she'll have physicals behind her
April 18, 200619 yr It deserves to go to #1 but I very much doubt it. There seems a lot of bias against ROCK going to #1.
April 18, 200619 yr For me, they're a certainty for top 3. All radio and TV seem to be making a big deal of it plus the mass Radio One coverage of the band won't do the sales any harm. It would be great if it gets to #1 but I reckon it could just get halted around #3.
April 18, 200619 yr Oh and for all you Chilli Peppers fans, please vote yes for a RHCP forum here http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2772 Thanks :D
April 18, 200619 yr I love the RHCPs too, but I don't think this one is one of their better singles, it doesnt really do it for me - I can see the album will sell really well though, they are getting lots of coverage and people have waiting for this album for a while
April 18, 200619 yr Well By the Way sold 45,000 copies to reach number two in 2002. So if Dani California sales around that amount, it has a chance :)
April 18, 200619 yr it probably will be #1 just depends on what the other singles released that week sale. though i'm not a chilli peppers fan so i don't really care if it doesn't get to #1.
April 18, 200619 yr i've not seen the video on tv or even heard it on the radio! but with downloads, yes it may well be no.01 no.02 would be a safer bet though i reckon
