Sorry mate, cant stand them... They pretty much single-handedly destroyed everything that was great about Indie and Britpop.. Fukkin' "Dad Rock" piffle.... Travis are also guilty as charged, but on a lesser scale because at least they had the decency to disappear into obscurity....

a very good band with the talent to write great songs but they play it so safe n sometimes they r so boring.

to be the new U2 is a difficult thing but not an exciting one.a new direction maybe?

I despise Coldplay and especially Keane :puke2:

A Coldplay, Keane & Dido concert all together is enouth to put anyone in a coma :(

I have a very strong hatred for Coldplay for the pure fact that they're boring. Seeing as they are supposed to be working with Timbaland on their next album hopefully the quality of their music will improve. :D

Ah, I can now add 'bangwagon jumpers' to the list of reasons to detest Coldplay. :manson:

The first two albums were great, the third was terrible...seriously Fix You is perhaps the most boring song ever made...no wait there's another song on the album worse and that's What If(This was a half decent song)
yes they are brilliant...especially live

Rot. The death of 'Britpop' began years before Coldplay's first single. The roots of dadrock are found in Paul Weller, Ocean Colour Scene (Weller acolytes) and Oasis (once Weller started hanging around them). You also have Urban Hymns-era Verve who popularised the 'this song's bland so let's put strings all over it' blueprint and made an entire album out of it.

Following this lot you had The Stereophonics and Travis, both of whom did more damage to the reputation of 'indie' than Coldplay ever could.

By the time Coldplay arrived indie was waving a little white flag and waiting for The Strokes to come along and breathe some life into it again.

Ok, not really on topic, but to answer the original question I can usually take Coldplay for the first month or so of the first single off each album, then I generally can't stand their ubiquity.
