I'm delighted at the promotion of Gareth, but would far rather heard him being played on any radio station than seeing him speaking for a few minutes on any TV station.

 

He won't get played on a radio station until he produces a song that's a bit more than a yawn fest.

 

He hasn't yet hit the dizzy heights of the Sky Waves where Will was promoted and I hope his management refrain from that.

 

I dont reckon his management will have much choice. :lol: If it's Voyager mag you're talking about, they DID do a feature on Will, but as I said before, it's a glossy, classy, award-winning mag that draws on A list celebs. Gareth doesn't qualify. :rolleyes:

Apparently from what I read there is little change from yesterday.

I don't get why you and a few of your OF members are so intent on feeling so `concerned' about Gareth's promotion either. Sometimes I think you should all take promotion up as a job seeing you're all so knowledgeable about what works and what doesn't.

OMG I haven't been on for a couple of days and can't believe the fuss made over one remark. There again I should have known. Reminds myself to make every remark about Will in his favour or be taken to task at every given opportunity.

 

 

It was only when I sat on my plane journey and was searching a cheap perfume that I saw a promotional article on Will. Was just reflecting on how many people would be reading that promotional article as they crossed the 'Sky Waves'? Nearly as many as the TV stations I would think! And before anyone asks I can't remember the exact flight No. and what Will was wearing.

 

 

Now as Gareth and others are releasing this week perhaps it can revert back to them.

Not sure how many people watch Loose Women, but Gareth gave a great interview and performance on there this afternoon.

 

He's singing live on the BBC2 JR radio program tomorrow. Steve Wright's just announced it on his program. Should be good

 

Beyonce and Shakira song is awful. It´s only selling because it features 2 big stars but the song is $h!t... In USa it´s already falling. It´s the type of song that is a fluke in the pan.

Its one thing raising awareness of someone you like and admire. Quite another thinking you know the right and wrong way to go about Management's job. Sure, they may get one or two things wrong, but on the whole they usually do a pretty good job without every detail and decision being picked to pieces :lol:

Personally I'm quite happy with the way 19 are managing things.

I'm a Gareth fan, but I find all this bickering deeply annoying and I doubt a dedicated forum would help matters, because it's always the same people who actively seek out any conversations about Gareth to find something to complain about. I swear some of them follow him more closely than I do, and I actually like the guy!

 

I know that five years ago there was a lot of bitterness about Gareth getting media attention, based on the theory that he was somehow stealing it from Will, but Will is not promoting at the minute, so there is no need for all this resentment. Will does not suffer because Gareth is doing a few tv appearances. Will's career will not improve if Gareth fails, and while I know some of his fans would be rubbing their hands with glee at that prospect, I am quite certain Will would much rather see him succeed. It doesn't mean you have to like Gareth, but perhaps you could give him, us fans, and other forum members a break by resisting the urge to take pot-shots every time people talk about him?

 

As I said before, I do think that if Gareth can hang onto number 12, or thereabouts, he will shock a lot of people who were convinced he would miss the charts. It's not enough to silence the people who want to find something to complain about, but whether they like it or not, or want to admit it is relevant or not, Gareth has built up a lot of goodwill with this round of promotion, and I consider that to be a positive.

 

Back to the other artists in the charts! I'm really happy about Life on Mars making a dent in the charts. It's a classic song, and has been used very effectively in the tv series. I already own it on CD, but if I didn't, I would be very tempted to download. It still sounds so fresh.
