What a thoroughly totally AWESOME series this has been.

I thought it was a good finale episode.

I'm really looking forward to the spin-off with Gene Hunt set in the 80s.

Let me guess, I suppose it will be called Ashes To Ashes, Scary Monsters or Lets Dance?

In total and utter agreement. It was so freakin' awesome! Sorry to use such an American term but sometimes the Yanks have a brilliant way of putting things. The best TV of the last 25 years. So glad they've ended it on a high and not dragged it out. Cannot wait for absolutely anything that Phil Glenister is in next.

It will actually be called Ashes To Ashes! What happened in the last episode? I missed it. :(

Yes, it was an amazing episode, and a brilliant ending. Fairly unexpected though :P

Im probably wrong but I thought when he got taken back to the 00s he was actually not alive so he jumped off the building to kill himself (return to the coma?) and save his workmates in the 70s?

I'll have to catch the repeat on BBC Four whenever it's on. I've only seen one episode but this one sounds interesting. :D
And that is tonight and tomorrow at 9.00pm on BBC Four. :funky:

I think he was alive in the 00s, but the 70s is a comatose/dead state, where he is happy.

I think

But then why couldnt he feel pain when he cut himself in the 00s?

Erm, good point!

Bafta nominations for hit BBC show

The smash-hit series Life On Mars has been nominated for two TV Baftas.

John Simm is up for best actor for his role as time-travelling cop Sam Tyler - but there is no nomination for his co-star, Philip Glenister (Gene Hunt).

The BBC1 series, which came to a conclusion on Tuesday night, is also up for best drama series.

Longford, the Channel 4 drama about the prison reformer's battle to release Myra Hindley from jail, is up for four awards, grabbing the largest number of nominations this year.

Jim Broadbent and Andy Serkis have both been shortlisted for best actor for their portrayals of Lord Longford and Moors Murderer Ian Brady respectively.

Samantha Morton is up for best actress for her role as Myra Hindley and Longford is also up for best single drama in the TV equivalent of the Oscars.

Life On Mars is also up for the Pioneer Audience Award, which recognises the best programme of 2006 and is the only prize of the night voted for by the public.

Meanwhile, the BBC has announced an Eighties sequel to the drama.

7.7 million see end of Life on Mars

Nearly eight million viewers tuned into the finale of Life On Mars on Tuesday night.

A 28% share of the TV audience sat down to discover whether DI Sam Tyler was in a coma, mad or had really travelled back in time.

The last episode, screened on BBC1 between 9pm and 10pm, was watched by an average of seven million people and a peak of 7.7 million.

On average, it pulled in one million more viewers than previous episodes of the second series, which have averaged around six million.

Coverage of the Champions League 7-1 defeat of Roma by Manchester United on ITV1 was watched by an average of 6.3 million viewers.

The match audience peaked at 7.7 million between 8.30pm and 8.35pm, before Life On Mars was aired on BBC1.

Between 9pm and 9.45pm, Champions League Live attracted 6.9 million viewers compared with 6.8 million for Life On Mars.

But Life On Mars reached a peak of 7.7 million in its final 15 minutes, when ITV1 slid to 5.1 million with post-match analysis.

Why have I never seen this show, it seems to be HUGE :o
It was brilliant! The best thing was, it didn't drag on (like some shows - Lost, anyone? -_- )

That's American shows for ya though. :( 24 episode series is far too many, that's what is offputting about Supernatural. :(
