so whats your favourite incarnation ?

i prefered wham! tbh, i remember seeing them on their totp debut. strange track (young guns ), abit of a funky rap! 'edge of heaven' was imho the best track of '86, loved the big 60's style production, this was also evident on 'im your man'. 'club tropicana' was good too and the somewhat overlooked 'everything she wants' was also a top class track.

not so keen on his solo material, although 'a different corner' was good, i liked his bottle to do the vid on 'outside' taking the p after being caught literally with his trousers down!.

now think the hits should stop playing 'club tropicana' over and over again and play the far too modern and not so retro October 1998 #2 release 'outside' more

and while we are bending the rules on the appearence of Outside have to say that i think Robbie William's Rudebox was his attempt at Freeek!. He seems to have bought book in the style of Bill Drummond (see Walter 'Intel Inside' Werzowa and the Pipettes) called How To Have A Number One the George Michael way!!!

btw Maybe Dare might be alright to listen to anyway and not as bad as i think it might be

however think the locals are not impressed

btw think 'club tropicana' might have invented Scooch's latest styling as the boy/girl airline camp look of wham! in that video is similar.

I love(d) Shoot The Dog = his commercial suicide. It's like Robbie Williams' Rudebox & Lovelight rolled into one.

His best period was his Wham! days.

However his best album was 1990's Listen Without Prejudice IMHO.

yeah it seems Robbie is following the plan 100%

btw this sounds better than Dont you want me baby but still no great alt.electronica sound like The Black Hit of Space or WXJL Tonight

At age of 20 and something he was reaaaaaaaaaaaly good singing in Wham but now I think better solo...

Wham? No thank you very much... Has anyone forgotten 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go'?

George on a solo basis has made some good tracks that I would listen to out of choice, notably:

Freedom

Too Funky

Flawless (without his vocals preferably)

Isn't 'Flawless' without George's vocals just the original dance tune 'Flawless' then?

I'd say he's equally as good in each incarnation...make of that what you will.

Favourite Wham song is Freedom

Favoruite George song is Freedom

Funny that!

About equal i think for me, good songs from both eras.

Best solo album is probably Faith.

Best solo single is Careless Whisper followed by A Different Corner

Best Wham! single for me is Freedom

Is your fave Robbie single is Freedom as well???

think so??? not to sure about that tho

actualy on the subject of the ones. i thought Superstar should have been a bigger hit. dont you???

Well, fave Robbie single isn't a phrase I come across very often, but of his singles I'd say the 'Freedom' cover is the best...it almost had a nice Primal Scream 'Loaded' backing to it...and that's when he was fat and wearing adidas. The Shaun Ryder in waiting...what happened?

yeah that video was played on the hits the other day and it was like a bizarre tribute act. thought it was part of the flashbox

So will everybody be watching him tonight or black sabbath and co on 7 ages heavy metal show??
Solo by miles and miles, he has far more classic songs as a solo artist then with Wham even though his last album was dissapointing. I saw his Wembley show tonight, he was amazing live, shame they only showed the first 4 songs though. <_<

I loved Wham! and his solo stuff too.I have all the albums and most of the singless, but listen to Wham that lil bit more,so 'Wham !' gets my vote.

For me 'Patience' is his best solo album so far.

Fav Wham single - 'Edge Of Heaven'.

Fav George solo single - 'Outside' & 'Freeek !'

I would have loved to have went to his concerts but they sold out quickly and cost an absolute fortune for a pair of tickets.

well i was watchin the heavy metal show on 7 ages. but even tho it was just ozzy and a load of hair metallers, the GM show looks like a ripoff, when the ads gave the impression more was gonna be shown.

Neither really.

I liked A Different Corner but that's it

I think he was vastly over-rated

I suppose who you are comparing him to, Simply Red? The Lighthouse Family? Will Young? James Morrison? Seal?? Lisa Stansfield?

The sublime One More Try, Father Figure, Fastlove and the jaw-droppingly beautiful Jesus to a Child... nah, George is definitely better solo.
