Editors new album, 'An End Has a Start', will be released in the UK & mainland Europe on 25 June 2007. (A US release date is yet to be announced)

 

The album will be released following first single 'Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors' on 18 June (digital available 11 June).

 

The Album track listing is as follows:

So only 2 months to go! If you go to the official site, you can hear a clip of the studio version of 'Bones', a song the band previewed many times last year on tour :).

 

Anyone else looking forward to this as much as I am? I will be seeing them on tour a month before the album comes out, it's gonna be amazing :cheer:

I'm looking forward to seeing what they come up with this time, they're a good band and I liked the last album.

Could go either way this. They're a great band and excellent live and I really liked the first album. Must admit I'd got bored of them by this time last year though - probably mainly due to their ridiculous re-releasing of old singles. Guess there's less chance of that happening now though.

Will be interested to hear their new stuff, I quite enjoyed their last album.

I liked the debut album, much to my amazement..... It was a bit derivitive of bands like Echo and the Bunnymen, Bauhaus, Joy Division, Teardrop Explodes and Psychadelic Furs, but they somehow managed to put their own stamp on it despite very obviously wearing their influences on their sleeves.... Like Richie though, I got irritated by the constant single re-releases... A bit "corporate whore" that..... And I still dont like them as much as Interpol really.... :lol:

Theyve had some cracking singles in the past, and im still waiting eagerly to hear 'Smokers Outside the Hospital Doors'. Depending on what the singles sound like, I might buy their album ^_^

Apparently 'Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors' has a choir at the end! :blink: Should be interesting!

I'm VERY excited about this album - 'The Back Room' is a five star album in my book, so news of a follow-up coming out so soon is brilliant!!! :yahoo: Hopefully this will help to make Editors into the truly massive band that they deserve to be, and land them their biggest single as well. B)

 

PS. Is anyone going to see them on tour? I'm not, really hope they announce a bigger scale tour for later in the year cos I wanna see them badly!!!

Well the new track had just had it's first spin on Radio1 now..

 

Not really too sure what to make of it. Is quite epic, but I really like the choir bit at the end, not too sure about the rest of the track though, shall have to give it a good few listens before making a proper judgement of it.

I wasn't too sure what to make of it either... my boyfriend got a recording of it though and now that I've heard it a few times, I'm really starting to like it! Can't wait to hear it live, I imagine it will be amazing.

It took some getting used to it, but I love it. It may sound epic and all, but Editors' key ingredients are still there.

Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors - I absolutely love it.

 

I suspect this will be their big commercial breakthrough, although I suspect music critics will criticise them for moving away from their Joy Division meets Bauhaus musical stylings of their debut album for something more commercial & epic sounding.

I've only heard the new single once, but I already know that its AMAZING!!!! :yahoo: What a great way to start promo for the new album, it sounds like a corker already!!! :D

Loved "The Back Room", all singles were ace. Hope it'll live up to it.

According to Play.com, there will be a Special Edition of the album but there aren't any details as to how it will be different to the normal release.

I was very impressed with "The Back Room". In spite of people saying it sounded samey, I think the album was quite unique and Editors definitely have their trademark sound. The singles taken from it were amazing as well and I can't wait to see what they come up with this time around!
