Commentary

The Manic Street Preachers and Nina Persson from The Cardigans rise 13 places to nab the top spot today. This is a superb comeback for the Manics, after a fair few years in the wilderness. Hurrah! Amy Winehouse rises to the runner up spot with the lovely Back To Black, and The Arctic Monkeys fall to three after 2 weeks at Number 1. Maximo Park drop to 4, and Snow patrol continue their rise to 5, as does Sophie Ellis Bextor at 6, with Me and My Imagination, her best song in years, imo. Shakonce drops to 7, as does Mark Ronson at 8 and Nelly Furtado at 9. Having swalloed a vocorder (Cher regurgitated it a few years ago!), hellogoodbye have a new entry at 10 with Here (in Your Arms).

Gym Class Heroes rise to 11, as do Linkin Park at 12. Booty Luv rise to 14, and new entries for Scooch (15) and Amerie (16) comprise the other moves in my chart this week.
