Calvin Harris is making his mark on 2007 in fine style. 'Acceptable In The 80s' is Calvin's first proper single release. It sparkles with highgloss, glitz and glamour; like a disco ball catching the light. A masterpiece of hooks and gushing synths, 'Acceptable In The 80s' is testament to the talent at work. No wonder that the man in question has been asked to work on Kylie Minogue's forthcoming comeback album. - HMV

I didn't know she sang on it :o I knew she wrote it though

It's BLATANTLY Milian. She gives her credit for "backing vocal" when it's not really so much backing.

She does this AGAIN on the I'm Real remix with Ja Rule, if you listen to the chorus ever so closely you can hear Ashanti singing with her.

Calvin Harris - I liked this at first, but I've gone of this song big time, and his follow up is not as good.

It sounds like someone in their bedroom coming up with an unfunny Human League pastiche.

Booblay had a top 40 hit back in 2005 - I'm sure he did.

And ugh this vile Paolo $h!t - I would love to castrate him with a hot metal poker. :smoke:

9th week inside the top 40 still the peak is # 21 :o

Paolo's track is the type of song that could have a second go at the charts, perhaps if it's used in an advert or someone on Radio 2 gets behind it again.

Take That release 'Shine', the second single from their multi-platinum selling album 'Beautiful World'. The ELO-esque 'Shine' has a triumphant sound in direct contrast to their first single (the record breaking Number 1 hit 'Patience') and sees Mark Owen on lead vocals. The band release 'Shine' in the wake of a phenomenal end to 2006 which saw their debut album leap to Number 2 in the biggest selling albums of the year chart in the UK after just 5 weeks sales. This makes 'Beautiful World' the biggest selling Take That album of all time in the UK. - HMV

Now I never knew either of those facts. :o

I knew Milian co-wrote 'Play' or something as they made a big deal out of it when her debut single came out in 2002.

But gawd does Jennifer actually sing on any of her songs at all?

Shine :puke2: <_<  (My emotions when I hear it)

Roll on the 3rd single from Beautiful World, the Gary Barlow ballad "I'd Wait For Life", all "Shine" is good for now is singing ELO's Mr Blue Sky over the top of.

Don't be fooled by his MC like moniker. Jamie T is a tall, skinny lad from the south-west London suburb of Wimbledon, obsessed by The Clash, Tom Waits, Rancid and The Specials as much as he's influenced by the garage and drum'n'bass raves he grew up attending. Armed with an acoustic bass guitar, Jamie has rocked the backrooms of London pubs, playing his solo show of tales of suburbia and what it is to be a young English gentleman growing up under Tony Blair.

'Sheila' is the latest release from Jamie's acclaimed and award-winning debut album 'Panic Prevention', and is one of the first tunes Jamie ever wrote. Full of typically Jamie T pithy one-liners and a massively upbeat sing-a-long chorus ("Sheila goes out with her mate Stella, which she pours all over her fella"), it's actually a bleak tale of drunken misadventure ending up in tragedy as the "Paramedic announced death at 10.30". - HMV

This is awful, its like Akon all over again, its all shout shout shout
Jamie T's voice really irritates me, I just wish he could attempt to sing/rap properly without sounding like he has a speech impediment & the sample on this track really irritates me too.
