Retaining all the playful boy-bashing of her previous albums, whilst also marking a progression into more sophisticated areas (as heard on her ballad 'Keep Holding On', the theme song from the recent blockbuster film Eragorn), 'The Best Damn Thing' features the first single 'Girlfriend', a perfectly sculpted pop moment that borrows the cheerleading frivolity of Toni Basil's 'Mickey', in a delightfully shocking way.

'The Best Damn Thing' is the third album from Canadian punk-pop princess Avril Lavigne. Produced by Dr. Luke (Kelly Clarkson, P!nk), husband Deryck Whibley (Sum 41), Rob Cavallo (Green Day, My Chemical Romance), Butch Walker and herself, 'The Best Damn Thing' also features Travis Barker (Blink 182, +44) on drums. - HMV

My predictions have been spot on so far! :D

And I still think Scooch will be #7 or 8.

I have to admit, I am sick to death of this song now. :(

I use to LOVE this...but now just find it a bit average.

Surprisingly the Manics stasy inside the Top 9, not a huge tumble as some members though

They have just climbed back to the iTunes top 5 :o

I think they will be 7 for some reason <_<

Manic Street Preachers return to an ambitious, edgier and energetic rock sound this spring with new album 'Send Away The Tigers' . The first single to be taken from the album, 'Your Love Alone Is Not Enough' is a duet with Nina Persson of The Cardigans, of whom the band have been long time fans. The song was recorded in New York earlier this year and is described by Nicky Wire as "Keith Moon drums, Pete Townsend power cords, sonically similar to Hole's 'Celebrity Skin' - 'Everything Must Go' era – euphoric rock… lyrically a two-way conversation in my head about love, religion, democracy and Richey". - HMV

#7 it is for Scooch then. I can't see them being higher than that.

But wow, highest charting Eurovision single in YEARS. :o
